Eric Grajales. Wrestled at Michigan.

To this day possibly the biggest gasser I've ever seen.  He did make AA once I know of. Fun to watch!

are you high?

Yeah, my bad completely. A FLORIDA High School has the greatest dynasty in HS history. How stupid of me to doubt the claim, I MUST BE HIGH because Florida is well known to have the best wrestling in the country.....

What screams greatest of all time is watching them wrestle and knowing it will bring joy.

Well, maybe not to the fans of the vanquished.

I don't mind losing to PSU, they are the best team out there. I enjoy the product Cael puts on the mat as a wrestling fan.

But guess you are correct would have ben better for their wrestlers to go straight from freestyle worlds to folkstyle duel with out letting them get healed up and use to folkstyle again before what matters starts

Stop. That's not why Cael opted out of Natty Duals. He said no to the event long before the freestyle season even started. Go listen to his interview about it at the time. He dismissed the event entirely

Seems fair.  Barr wasn't ranked before today because he hadn't wrestled a match until today.

Same for Penn State - they ducked the national duals so we can only speculate about how they would perform against those teams.  I'm happy giving the benefit of the doubt to the teams that are willing to step on the mat.

The thing about ducking is that it always catches up with you. So since you say they ducked can we get your official predictions for the Ohio State and Iowa duals? How much will PSU lose by in each one?

Penn State will have an asterisk next to that dual meet win record.  They constantly duck any real competition and definitely ducked national duals where they would have lost to Ohio State.

They have Ohio St. on their schedule .  The proof will be in the pudding.

That match was a lot closer than I expected.  With all the fanfare around Duke.  Up until today he seemed like a heavy title favorite.  He's certainly not invincible.

Seems to me 157 is to big of cut for duke. Doesn’t look like he has his pop he use to have.

Probably, but I was not 100 percent sure.

Yeah, if you're not 100% sure and able to prove it, you will get drug through the mud on here.

Flashback to a battle between two of the biggest gassers in NCAA history. If all matches ended after the first period, Andrew Alton could’ve been PSUs first 4xer.

Glad you said "will" folks would've taken issue with "could."  😉

Penn State has good backups (Desmond, davis, kasak).  If a couple guys are banged up from U23s then use your back ups.  Don't duck the whole tournament to protect seeds and a fake record. Nebraska and Iowa both used backups as im sure most teams did. Cael and Penn State ducking the national duals is a coward move and bad for the sport.

So anyone can create a tournament and Penn State is required to participate or be accused of cowardice?

With the way some of you have gotten, I hope they never attend.

NCAA is good enough to prove who and what they really are, and Iowa and Ohio State duals they will show up for.

Getting triggered into not wanting to see good wrestling is the most Penn State fan thing ever  😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

If Kasak and Davis had wrestled they'd have burned their redshirts this year, the 5 event grace period is only for true freshmen.

Why would they burn the redshirts of those guys for a single weekend? That's insane.

If other schools are so bent out of shape about the dual meet record, why don't their athletes try harder in the B1G dual meet season? You know, score more points? Win more matches?

Penn State has outscored Iowa 101 to 41 in their duals since the start of the streak. They've outscored Ohio State 165 to 66 since then. Why didn't either of these schools just...beat Penn State during that streak? Instead of awarding theoretical wins to tanOSU for matches that didn't happen in November, why didn't Iowa or tanOSU just win instead of losing, time after time, in matches that have actually happened?

Yea they would self proclaim they were the best in the country, but no one actually believe it. They "offered" to face anyone to challenge them for the streak, but the caveat was it had to be in their gym and remmeber in the 2000's high school teams were not traveling that far. I dont remember exactly when but i believe Easton tried to face them and a dual tournament called the Final Four or something like that but the a Brandon coach pulled a Tom Brands and rigged the bracket so there was no way for them to cross paths.

They had this 171lber named David Craig who was a monster in high school. Legitimately ranked number 1 in the country.  Beat Mike Letts of Maryland at the Dapper Dan Allstar match. Went to Lehigh and had a pretty mediocre career. Publicly announced he didn't like wrestling, but did it because he was good at it and it got him a college scholarship.

Having wrestled there in the 2000's, I don't recall anyone on the team proclaiming that and certainly none of the guys on the team were beating their chest in pride about a dual meet streak, let alone using it as proof that it somehow made us a better team. Maybe some overzealous parents or fans thought so on keyboards back then.

We had teams go to Beast, Ironman, and a good portion of the team went to Fargo each year. I think our teams national rankings in those years mirrored the results we achieved from those and other large tournaments. Would all 14 guys start at the top teams in the country? Yeah, of course not. We had a lot more self awareness than you are projecting.

you are saying they never had anyone that would make a 2nd string team at a good Oklahoma high school. That is crazy talk. Put down the peace pipe.

Ofcourse the actual team members didn't do this. Ofcourse it was the fan base, but thats how it is with every team. No official team member is going to tout this stuff. I'm not projecting anything. The program was very proud of the streak. To say they didn't care about it is silly. There were documentaries made about it. The fanbase did refer to themselves as the best team in the country. I'm well aware of how good Brandon was as they did have a number of NCAA AA's.

I remember reading about Easton trying to face them in the mid 2000s and Brandon doing what they could to avoid them. This was a big topic on the old message boards 20 years ago. Maybe my memory of it is off, but I can guarantee yours is too.

That being said this all came about because someone claimed PSU was being like Brandon. PSU is legitimately the best team in the country. Brandon never was. PSU not going to the colligate duals has obvious hurt the feelings of some fans feeling the need to think that it someway delegitimizes PSU. It doesnt. They would love to see their programs beat a PSU team without its starters all ready to go thinking that it boosts their credentials when it doesnt.

I enjoy watching everyone. I like several PSU wrestlers. It's PSU fans that make that place so putrid
