Unless they were going to put him at 125 this year over Lilledahl, I really hope they dont waste a year of eligibility of Desmond at 141

Waste? It seems likely he'd waste a year of eligibility next year when he can't crack the lineup.

Cael said in a interview 2 weeks ago that Desmond is big and will never make 125 again

Blaze seems likely to keep growing.  Desmond can handle Lilledahl.  I wouldn't be surprised to see Lilledahl transfer out because of Desmond at some point.

I heard that, but sounds strange to me given he would be a title threat this year at 125.  It must be just too difficult of a cut

I seriously doubt that.

Lilledahl is going to be a career 125 and plans to wrestle 57 kg for trials in 2028

He already looks too tall and skinny for 125!  But its his choice obviously.  I also wonder if Penn State will be able to tolerate having someone who is not a title favorite hanging around that long.  He'd be an easy candidate to be recruited over if he sticks around.

Cardenas took some starch out of PJ with that ride but Duke just too good defensively.

Cardenas scores in that position against almost everyone else.

Great match. Heart pumping.

PJ Duke has now beaten two returning AA today... in the correct sport even!

That match was a lot closer than I expected.  With all the fanfare around Duke.  Up until today he seemed like a heavy title favorite.  He's certainly not invincible.

He looks like a guy who had a hard time switching over from FS.

Too content to hold center.

I thought he'd win easier, but that was a savvy ride. Betting they work on that with PJ.

A certain senior 70kg world champ might have a bone to pick with the young man the next couple of weeks.

It will be good for him.

Penn St leads 30-0 on the scoreboard and 17-1 in takedowns so far vs Stanford.

19th ranked Posado vs Unranked Josh Barr. Maybe PSU can pull the upset according to the rankings at 197.

Barr wins by 19-3 TF in 4:13.

Yes same rankings that have Ohio State and Iowa ranked ahead of Penn state

Cole Mirasola is 30 heavier than Duffy.

Cole with 7 first period takedowns. Wins by 21-6 TF in 2:59. Crazy stat for a Hwt.

Penn State earned 28 takedowns to 1 for Stanford.

Final team score 40-0.

Seems fair.  Barr wasn't ranked before today because he hadn't wrestled a match until today.

Same for Penn State - they ducked the national duals so we can only speculate about how they would perform against those teams.  I'm happy giving the benefit of the doubt to the teams that are willing to step on the mat.

Penn state is the Brandon hs of college wrestling. They only have this dual meet record because they actively dodge competition. I’m not saying they’re not clearly the number 1 team in the country atm, but when you only have the minimum number of duals each year, it doesn’t exactly scream the greatest of all time
