Kaleb Larkin up.
Richie Figs down.

How do you feel Kyler Larkin and Manville will do this season, they seemed to have a good weekend.

Regular season Figs stock always does seem to be down.

Brands Brothers, stock has to be down.  Offensively Iowa took minimal shots and had minimal forward motion.  The Brands did continue with their antics of walking onto the mats and complaining about every thing.

Jesse Mendez- Stock up.  Not that it needed to go up, but dude just broke people.

Massoma Endene- Stock up.  He seems to be getting more comfortable every match.

Ben Davino- Stock up.  For sure a title contender.

Iowa Hawkeyes- The finals were pretty awful.

Both had nice summers. I think Manville is a big 141 so that plays in his favor I believe. Both have a good shot to get on the podium I think.

Mendez and Davino were already at their high, so they can't go much further up.

Love the Iowa hate!  I thought they wrestled pretty well until the finals.  They beat everyone's newest darlings- Oklahoma State, and did it while forfeiting heavy.  Obviously didn't look good against Ohio State, but no one did.  They certainly looked better against the Bucks that the other new darling, Nebraska.

Yes, the Brands were the Brands, but other teams were hit for more team points.  The worst example may have been Espo complaining that DT was actually on the line inside the wrestling area but Espo was hit for a point and DT wasn't!

Bouzakis for sure...he beat Peterson and Volk. In the same Duals Peterson beat NCAA runner up Spratley and Volk beat Ventresca who took 5th last year.

I'll also add Brandon Cannon who trucked NCAA Champ Antrell Taylor. He all majored all his opponents at Duals.

I think all the Oklahoma St transfers have stock down - Figs, Swiderski, Facundo and Ryder.

Antrell Taylor down as well.

I think Figs, Swiderski, and Ryder just simply aren't healthy right now.  That said, I agree.  Facundo beat #4 Minto, so not sure why stock down there.  Also went to OT with #2 Kennedy.  He got decked, sure, but Singleton looks like he is right up there in contention this year as well.  He looked like a 165lber bumped up last year... he looks lean, strong, and full-sized this year.

Rumor is Taylor got hurt.  He shouldn't have wrestled the Ohio State match, apparently.  Now he gets to be the bad draw once he comes back healthy.

Which Taylor stock down? Coach, wrestler, or both?

Antrell I wouldn't say David Taylors stuck went down. Hype train a little derailed thats it. Antrell on the other hand looks bad I'm not suprised however, I think he was just hot for NCAA's and his hype train has cooled off. We will see if he bounces it back lets hope hes not one and done, at his current pace he would be lucky to AA.

No way stock up.  Apart from  Bailey, Ayala, and Caliendo all lost to freshman who will could be title contenders by the end of the year they were stock up this weekend finishing ahead of both OSU and Nebraska ho outperformed them last year

On the recruiting front Brands landed a bunch of 2027 and 2028 recruits this week.  His 2027 class is looking like his best ever and 2028 is great too. The results this weekend validated some of his more dubious recruiting decisions in the past.

Recruiting the Ferraris (AJ #10 2020, Anthony #14 2022, Angelo #2 2024) always seemed like a questionable decision.  It prompted Swiderski #2 in the class of 2022 to decommit and then 2/3 of the Ferraris flamed out at the Soldier Salute losing to Rathjen and Glazier in the final.  Then Brands recruits over them with high priced transfers the week before classes start. It had a lot of people second guessing those decisions.  Now it looks like Brands had it right all along.

Last year none of those that transfered out (Siebrecht, Jesuroga, Reyna, Seibrecht, Martinson, Rhodes, Martinson, Glazier, Hill) nor the the potential recruits who decomitted to wrestle elsewhere (Swiderski, Ferrari, Ferrari) outperformed their Iowa counterparts last year.  The only one to place at NCAA was AJ Ferrari but he was beaten by Stephen Buchanan who became Iowa's first national champion since 2021.

This weekend Rathjen who subsequently transferred out was 1-2, Swiderski was 1-3, and Ryder Block (#22 in the class of 2023) was 3-1 with a win over Swiderski.  AJ Ferrari was 3-1 losing to Feldman someone Iowa's Ben Keuter has beaten 3x.  Angelo Ferrari went 4-0 with three top 10 wins.  Brands kept the best from that recruiting fiasco.  Those that left would not be in the lineup and he has two great classes lined up for 2027 and 2028 - stock up!

Stock up:  Bishop McCort.

I'm only half-joking here.  Yes, they're a high school team and didn't compete, but hear me out:

--Bo Bassett beat Jaxon Joy 11-1 at the Clarion Open, who had beaten Ethan Stiles.  Both Joy and Stiles went unbeaten at Nationals Duals, with Joy taking out Swiderski and Stiles taking out Block and Zinkin.

--Jax Forrest beat Ben Davino 4-0 at the US Open.  We already knew Ben Davino was good (having taken out Fix), but after destroying Drake Ayala at National Duals, it's clear Davino is a likely finalist.

--Mel Miller took out Brandon Cannon 8-5 at the Clarion Open.  So far it's Cannon's only blemish, with a National Duals run that included a 16-4 thumping of defending NCAA Champ Taylor, plus 18-8 over Millard.

Earlier this year I said I thought McCort would place top 20 at NCAAs in March if they were allowed to compete.  Now I'm amending that to top 10. Jax and Bo each place 1st-3rd and Miller low-AA's, which is probably good enough to clear mid-40s in points, which is probably good enough to place top 10.
