odd

Surprised that either 1) He doesn't want to remain NLWC or 2) They don't really want him. (or both)

And he moved from tOSU to train with Snyder...

PSU has always been hit or miss at heavy, they excel from middles on up to 97kg, but heavy has always been a mystery for them.

Lehigh has produced really good heavyweights for a very long time now.  Kirk needs to be in a place where he can learn the tricks of the heavies, because the weight is his if he really wants it.

purely speculating on my part but if Brooks can come back for 2028 I wonder if his intention is to go 97 and Snyders is to go 125 and greg is aware of that.

Who was Penn State’s last world team member at heavyweight? Kerry McCoy? Lehigh had Zach Rey much more recently. Now both are coaching at Lehigh. Yeah, we can speculate that maybe Snyder is moving up, or maybe Greg didn’t like the whole Starocci situation. But, it could simply be that Lehigh is the better place for a heavyweight to train. I know it’s hard to believe Happy Valley may not be the best place for EVERYONE 😀

Where is Brooks going to train?  Who is going to coach him?  Who will his partners be? Is he smart enough to stay clean?

Jordan Wood (2x AA), Zach Rey (3x AA), and Max Wessell (1x AA) are the only AAs from Lehigh at 285 in the last 25 years.

All very true, also wonder if 97kg is an option if he was using, I would imagine he's going to get smaller to some degree. I wonder if he can skirt the rules by training with guys at American top team or something of that nature.

Brooks better not be "around..."

I thought he was appealing it, or that there was a hearing to appeal it?

Does that mean that it suspends the impositions placed?

"I know actually nothing.  It isn't even conjecture at this point." - me

I think yes, unless they are NLWC members or coaches or USA coaches/national team members.  If it ends up being a 3 year ban, I think he ends up doing more MMA, but won't be able to do an USADA tested org.

I'm not sure how it works, but with a lot of things, suspensions last until appeals are settled.  My understanding is that he knows he will be suspended, he's just hoping to knock off a couple years.

And Trephan but even if you don't want to count him that's 6 years out of 25.

My apologies, as I was going off of Lehigh wrestling's record book that hasn't been updated.

1) Do you consider 4 AA heavies in 25 years a lot of "really good heavyweights?"

2) Do you think that Trephan was "developed" by/at Lehigh?

1- You made it sound like you thought it was a paucity.

2- Why do you think I phrased it the way I did?

Kerk was a national champ. How the heck do you guys consider that struggling at heavyweight? Guess the standard at PSU is way high...geez!

*interim champ

Parris was going to take his RS in 2023 if Gable wrestled.
