Wouldn’t this flight stuff (or whatever else they were allegedly asking for) have been discussed prior to signing the original deal?

I imagine they were.

I also imagine that compliance wasn't involved in that part of the discussion(s).

Tom gave him the ole 'We gotchu brudda' fistbump.

Is Mocco next? 🤠

Wouldn't be to OK State, no room at that inn with he and Dreshaun going for one spot.

Couldn't he just use part of his $25M to hop on NetJets?  ✈️

The family (dad?) wanted to tell Tom how to train/run the program but also wanted paid flights to get their kids to the RTC to train whenever they wanted?

Giving so much special treatment to one family is a quick way to ruin a team's culture so I don't blame Tom for taking a stand. However, I can easily imagine him being less than tactful with how he communicated all this to the family and that has been a persistent problem

I could see compliance telling them that recruits and potential recruits can't train with Iowa without knowing that all three brothers are RTC eligible.

One would think.  Seems like an easier solution would have been to hook Bill up with a job at Coe College (I kid, sorta).  To @Coastal’s comments, isn’t there a thing about living within 250 miles of the RTC or something?

250 mile is a rule but there's a work around for wrestlers who attend private schools.

If you're hungry for the inside scoop and unique insights around the Bassett situation...you can go ahead and skip today's FloWrestling Radio Live (FRL). I sat (suffered) through it, so you don't have to...45 minutes of pure conjecture.  I'll never take this forum for granted again.

Melvin has probably surpassed Bo in the perception of skill level as a recruit. Nowhere near the hype obviously.

Well he’s also only a sophomore.

Not enough of Tyler talking about cartoons on here, though...

Usually there are two sides to every story.  It just seems weird to me that all Bo's side is saying is that they weren't "feeling the love"...   TnT don't seem like the lovey type so I can't imagine that was the main reason he originally committed to Iowa.

If he commits quickly after such long drawn out process the first time, I wonder if this isn't just a typical commitment flit but for for someone who cultivates his imagine so carefully they want to make it look like it was Iowa who wouldn't meet their (unreasonable?) "love" request.

Pyle did comment about how he wanted to train at Iowa and was told they couldn’t due to compliance.

But then said “as well as other personal dynamics,” whatever that means.  Also used the “not feeling the love” wording

Someone is reporting that Tom Brands called up Mrs. Bassett and yelled at her. I won't say who is spreading this rumor but it is definitely Pat Mineo. Take it with a grain of salt because he probably read it on a message board himself.

Iowa is definitely on the decline and Bob is a loose cannon.

Remember like forever ago (last week) when Iowa fans were once again touting the downfall of the PSU wrestling program after the Bartlett stuff came out? They had like pages and pages on the cesspool and now it looks like their program is collapsing into oblivion instead. Meanwhile PSU may end up with Bassett. It's been a wild offseason, like always.

I am by no means an Iowa fan and do not think the Brands get the most out of developing their guys but that mans obsession with trying to dunk on that program is truly insane. He is good for the sport... I think though he drives attention at least.
