The other way to look at this is him saying in the back of his mind "If Hulk Hogans league existed I may not have made even close to the amount of money I did in the WWE...phew"

Haha exactly.  Love the ambition but this is now getting into fantasy territory unless he’s saying he would have rather been in a “real” wrestling league even if he would have made like 1/10 (maybe less) the money that he ended up making.

I think I mostly agree but I feel more optimistic about making wrestling a little less fringe. Maybe not mainstream level but I do think the sport has potential to be a lot more popular. After all, it is significantly more popular in many other countries.

As to your other question, being a former swimmer, I actually watch swimming more often than wrestling. Having recently discovered a love for sprinting, I have started to follow track pretty regularly

Mrs. ScottishSteel was a D1 400m track athlete; track is on fairly regularly and NCAAs, Worlds, Olympics is appointment viewing.  I've grown to enjoy it a lot - it's pushing the limits of the human body in it's most simplest forms.   Who is the fastest at X distance? Who can throw this object the farthest? etc.

There is no doubt. He breaks his own WR, albeit a cm at a time, whenever he wants

I believe he gets a solid cash bonus every time he breaks the WR so he's just doing it in tiny increments so he can almost always break his own record and get the bonus

I am not sure if fox has any relation with the UFC but a deal with UFC fight pass, I think would have been really beneficial. Your best chance of getting people immediately outside of wrestling fandom is the MMA crowd. I follow a few Russian accounts on twitter and some of them are Dagestani and some are Chechen, and they follow both the wrestlers and MMA guys from that region religiously. I think they would tune into cards to see young prospects that may still be in the amateur scene wrestle similarly to how they watch them do grappling events.
