Oh, Markwayne Mullin said it without providing any evidence? You would think that, if this were true, literally anybody from the administration would have said something over the last several days!  Well, no further inquiry needed!

The fact that you're trying to equate these two things is hilarious.

i posted evidence of both...

There are very easy to find quotes from the Trump administration on how this process of the Qatar plane began. Unfortunately for Mullin, the Trump administration differs from his story.

ever think that maybe they don't want to give credit to biden?

Boeing was contracted in 2018 to deliver new Air Force One planes for delivery in December 2024. That never happened. Boeing blames supply chain issues (some companies that make parts have gone out of business), changes made to the requirements of the planes and the high cost of doing the work

Now - just in the interest of fairness - we should all acknowledge at least one simple fact here.

If you are contracted to complete a job for the government, and in the middle of the work - you are requested to make multiple significant changes to the job by the President. It should surprise nobody at all that the estimated time of delivery will be pushed out to a later date. That is not Boeing's fault.

My only point here is that it feels like posters are blaming Boeing solely for delays - when, in fact, at least some of the delays were caused by the requested changes from the client.

Changes take time.

Can you please list the requested changes and then attach time limits to each one for us?  Then we can all decide how much time the requested changes actually are taking.

I have no interest in any of that level of detail, but if you do - have at it. Knock yourself out.

The simple fact is that change orders consume time and money. To blame them solely on Boeing just isn't right.

I've made my point clear. Twice. That Boeing can't fairly be blamed for being late or over budget when they have received change orders from the client. These changes cost more money and take more time. (I've now made it three times.)

Which President(s) requested the changes you ask? From what I have gathered, the change order requests were made primarily by Trump. But - I haven't spent a great deal of time thinking about that or researching it. Biden may well have made a number of requests as well. That is all beyond the scope of the point I was making.

But, if you would like to run that information down, I would be interested in reading what you find out.
