I think it's going to be an RTC announcement with him laying out his expectations for the next cycle (or two) as far as weights as well as coaching aspirations.

I think he heads up to Wiscy, UNIC (if PK intends to stay, which I am sure KOT knows better than any of us), or OSU with Roper (if PK intends to follow... same reasoning as the last bit).

Well, what was the announcement?

Nothing.  He just talked about his injury (torn ACL), when it happened (sometime before collegiate duals, but was exacerbated at collegiate duals, what the rest of the season was like and how limited he was (tough and very), and talked about future plans to compete after he's fully recovered.  It will be in Missouri, at least according to the interview.  There was nothing "announced".

Being in Mizzou is an announcement.  There has been speculation on him heading wherever PK heads or back to Wiscy.  Him staying put is absolutely an announcement I think).

He never officially said he’s staying at Mizzou for this cycle.

The unintentional announcement was that Askren will be wrestling in some sort of pro league sometime soon. Pyles went on to say jokingly that he wasn’t sure KOT was supposed to say that yet. It was during the time Pyles mentioned Bader is wrestling in a masters division this week. So KOT accidentally let it slip. Anyone have any info on this new league that’s happening?

I mean...he didn't say "I will be continuing my career exactly where I have been the last 6 years" but the implication was pretty clear.  "I have a great training situation here in Columbia", he talked about meeting w/ Coach Smith, and then ended his interview with a Mizzou chant.  Usually an announcement is required for a change in location/training, not a maintaining.

I would like for KOT to be on staff. I believe it would be good for both parties. KOT gets paid to stay, train and help coach. Mizzou gets a middle weight that can help the roster. We have Maple, Todd and Bradley currently.

He doesn’t seem to be hurting for money, he must be getting paid enough to afford a new construction house, not many college students that can say that.

Todd is no longer on staff, expecting that spot to get filled in the next couple of weeks.

Makes sense. KOT made some comments at Nationals that he really wanted to step away for a minute to heal, go on spring break, spend time with his wife, all the stuff that had been on the backburner during his college wrestling career. He also mentioned something about his involvement in the homebuilding business(?), so I originally thought his announcement would be that he'd be focusing on getting that going.
