Not much chatter about him. Freshman NCAA champ who I think was the 50th rated recruit.

Most freshman champs would betting their own “Potential 4 timer” threads.

I don’t know much about him. I’m sure he was good and maybe a bit under the radar coming in, but surprised there isn’t more discussion about him.  Maybe one of those guys that just made leaps once he got to a good college room.

He’s a stud. Props to him and this is coming from a VT fan. I think he was never a state champ either but was a high placer. Coach Pops deserves credit for scouting and developing.

He and Eddie had a couple battles this year and I look forward to seeing them scrap next year. Robinson won when it mattered most

He did win powerade and ironman his junior year but certainly not the resume of other freshman champs.  Also remember Jakob Camacho had another year of eligibility this year. Not sure if he got hurt or lost a wrestle-off but Vince was ranked quite high all season putting up a bunch of ranked wins.

Camacho got hurt - if they give him a medical for last year, he could be back for season number 8 next year.

He never won state in Illinois.  I think he got beat by Lemley in the finals a couple times if I'm not mistaken.  He grew up wrestling for the Harvey Twisters.  If you know, you know.

He also got beat out, the match he got hurt in was during his attempt to move up to 133 after Robinson dominated Journeyman and Camacho floundered

Illinois people knew his potential. Had some unfortunately bracketing and refereeing in high school, so I could see how he flew under the radar.

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Serious question. Does he go back and say he needs more $$?

He would break the bank by entering the portal...

I'm sure the NCSU staff know in this day and age you've gotta get some scratch together and make him whole. Trusting the personal relationship is enough to keep a freshman national champion for all years of eligibility would be a fool's folly. Most kid's aren't like a Parker Keckeisen or a Keegan O'Toole. If they don't put something together they'll be playing a risky game.

It probably also has to due with the fact that 125 has been choas the past few years and it just seems a little more presumptuous to assume anything at that weight recently

I think he doesn't get talked about much yet because Ventresca, whose reputation never really solidified, had his number.

I saw the kid early in the year and he looked awesome...but to be honest... I don't really watch the B1G that closely outside of maybe Okie State.

Edit-Eh, that's not true. Iowa State, UNI...I guess I just don't see the ACC enough. I'm not paying for the ACC Channel or whatever it may be.

Because I don't get to watch the ACC much during the season and as a result I'd forgotten about how good Vince Robinson looked?

Guess not...

No because you don't realize that Oklahoma State is not in the B10.

Am I really giving you too much credit in expecting you to realize I misspoke and said I don't really watch much wrestling other than the B1G that closely and then saying except for Okie St(and then subsequently other NON-Big 10 teams)?
