Most freshman champs would betting their own “Potential 4 timer” threads. I don’t know much about him. I’m sure he was good and maybe a bit under the radar coming in, but surprised there isn’t more discussion about him. Maybe one of those guys that just made leaps once he got to a good college room. 3 2

Coach Pops deserves credit for scouting and developing. He and Eddie had a couple battles this year and I look forward to seeing them scrap next year. Robinson won when it mattered most
Ched64 Posted March 25 Posted March 25 He did win powerade and ironman his junior year but certainly not the resume of other freshman champs. Also remember Jakob Camacho had another year of eligibility this year. Not sure if he got hurt or lost a wrestle-off but Vince was ranked quite high all season putting up a bunch of ranked wins.

Camacho got hurt - if they give him a medical for last year, he could be back for season number 8 next year.

Trusting the personal relationship is enough to keep a freshman national champion for all years of eligibility would be a fool's folly. Most kid's aren't like a Parker Keckeisen or a Keegan O'Toole. If they don't put something together they'll be playing a risky game.
