This is untrue. The wrestling facility was not owned or operated by Tarleton State University. It was bought and paid for by the major donor, Al Rodgers. It is his property. As well, there was no program to cut. It was and remains in club status. Meet member thresholds and pay the $250 fee to maintain club status and you are a club.

I get it, but between the few guys seeded below Haines, Mantanona has a scrambling ability that can put anyone in danger. No one in this field can beat Levi straight up without some trickery.

Not that it really matters bc he's head and shoulders above the field, but I think Levi had a lesser path as the 2 seed. I think Kharchla and particularly Mantanona pose a bigger threat than Kennedy. Shouldn't matter anyway...just an observation.

If I'm forced to bet $100 straight up on each weight class here are the Buckeyes I'd willingly put my money on: 133 Davino: he's been the most impressive guy at the weight this season to me. He's not my favorite to win at nationals but he's in the top contender's tier. Last guy to beat Blaze in folkstyle - I'm buying Davino stock in bunches. This is so close to a 50/50 match but I give Davino the edge bc he's gonna put on a pace looking to score. 141 Mendez: He's the odds on favorite at nationals. Will be challenged by likely only Hardy and Vega. When Tom tells him, "We need 5 or 6" before he takes the mat against PSU 141, he will absolutely go and get it. HWT Feldman: Could be a tight one here but I ultimately see Feldman taking this 8 out of 10 times. He's high podium at NCAAs with a shot to be at the top. Three others that are close to me but aren't favorites I can confidently bet on straight up (give me some juice and I'll take the wagers) are 197 Geog, 157 Cannon and 125 Bouzakis. I'm most intrigued to see the 157 match bc we know Duke is a generational talent and Cannon was a very talented HS kid that's done nothing but get better every step of the way in Columbus. 125 I got LL 7 times out of 10 but those 3 for Bouzakis could very well be bonus point matches. He's a homerun hitter. Penn State still the dual favorite, but Ohio State maybe has the most in the country to make it a barn burner.

Maybe if Penn State wrestled the big early season tournaments Ohio State wouldn’t have been able to charge up the board so much. Since PSU doesn’t seem to care much about scheduling challenges outside of the mandated conference schedule, they probably won’t care much about this. However, we sure can have fun with the thought of a contested NCAAs!

Davino is a DAWG. IMO he is a title threat. Angelo, Davino, PJ Duke and Lockett are your logical freshman title threats. The rest I wouldn't bet on but there's a reason why you wrestle the matches.

I think this is a great fit. AJ to HWT, getting coached by Tervel. Both Texas guys. Nebraska great track record with elevating their athletes. Very very solid opportunity for AJ and big team points for Nebraska in March.

Also, opting out does not absolve a school from paying their part in the House vs NCAA class action $2.8 billion settlement. Each of those schools will have an individualized payment contribution to make in the settlement with former athletes.

Fact is, for most guys, they're only as loyal as their opportunities. That goes for both the coach/program and the athlete. You can even expand that to everyday life.

I'm sure the NCSU staff know in this day and age you've gotta get some scratch together and make him whole. Trusting the personal relationship is enough to keep a freshman national champion for all years of eligibility would be a fool's folly. Most kid's aren't like a Parker Keckeisen or a Keegan O'Toole. If they don't put something together they'll be playing a risky game.

I believe Angelo has what it takes to win 184 this year. If he's the entry at 184 I believe that it CAN become a 3 horse race...not saying it WILL. I just think he's special and has the game PLUS mindset required to upset a guy like Carter.

This was the exact process that one university used that recruited my son. In fact, his official visit was during the team roster wrestle offs. We got to attend the wrestle offs. Let me tell you, it was intense and you could cut the tension in the air with a knife.

By all appearances Bo doesn't seem to be a prima donna and he very much appears to be a team guy. I also think that it'll be good for college wrestling if Bo does not go to Penn State. Reason being is I believe he's the kind of personality, worker and generational talent that is going to attract more top recruits to wherever he lands. That could create a seismic shift in the balance of power between Penn State and everybody else. Similar to how David Taylor taking over at Ok State looks like one of the few things that has the potential to knock PSU off it's course. Some drama in the team race will bring more eyes to the sport and make those 3 days in March even more exhilarating.

"Actions toward other coaches". Left purposely vague bc there were no actions toward other coaches worthy of suspension.

Andy has done such. He provided response to his suspension within the requisite 20 day window in the form of a 175 page legal brief drafted by his attorney(s).
