Is it clear that Warner is out?   The thing about this dual is that PSU a chance to win 9 out of 10 and strong favorites in at least 3.  While Iowa (without Warner) is heavy favorite in only one and has a strong chance to win 5 or 6.   Iowa will have some sadness if only Lee gets the win - is Hawkeye wrestlenation worried?     Should they be?

I wont speak for all of Hawkeye wrestlenation, but of the 27 in season predictions I have collected so far the only person predicting anything less than a pinfall for Lee over Steen is on HR.

I will accept contingent entries

At this point most I can give you is I think the over under for total matches going to Sudden Victory should be set at 3.5

Locks:

Iowa @ 125 - 6 for Lee

PSU @ 133 - 3 for RBY

Iowa @ 149 - 3 for Murin

PSU @ 174 - 3 for CStar

PSU @ 184 - 3 for Brooks

So 9-9 based on locks, assuming no further bonus.

Toss-up:

141: but Woods favored

157: only if Haines wrestles, otherwise Iowa strong favorite

165: but Kennedy favored

197: Dean slight favorite

HWT: Cass favored based on recent results

Here's my prediction

125- Lee pins Howard        Iowa up 6-0

133- RBY majors Teske      Iowa up 6-4

141- Woods dec. Bartlett     Iowa up 9-4

149- SVN dec. Murin           Iowa up 9-7

157- Haines dec. Siebrecht   PSU up 10-9

165- Kennedy dec. Facundo   Iowa up 12-10

174- Starocci dec. Brands     PSU up 13-12

184- Brooks majors Assad    PSU up 17-12

197- Dean dec. Warner         PSU up 20-12

285- Kerk dec. Cass             PSU up 23-12

*If Barraclough goes instead of Haines, I have it PSU 20-15

125 Lee by fall 6-0 Iowa

133 RBY by dec 6-3 Iowa

141 Woods by dec 9-3 Iowa

149 Van Ness by dec 9-6 Iowa

157 Haines by dec 9-9 Tie

165 Kennedy by dec 12-9 Iowa

174 Starocci by dec 12-12 Tie

184 Brook by major 16-12 PSU

197 Dean by dec 19-12 PSU

285 Kerk by dec 22-12 PSU

If Bartlett beats Woods at 141 (I almost picked beau), it's over early.  Hoping Facundo beats PK, I feel Facundo would beat him if he wrestles aggressive, since he's bigger and faster than PK, but if he keeps it close to vest, I see PK winning, possibly OT

I don't blame you for jumping the gun here because it is the only way you can steal this kind of thread from Jimmy.

Totally false, I never predict fictitious "pinfalls," there's no such thing, and I certainly did not do so here. See above.    🤨

This seems perfectly reasonable to me and would result in a Hawkeye victory.  Could be a close one

125: Spencer Lee by fall over Gary Steen 6-0

133: Roman Bravo-Young by decision over Brody Teske 6-3

141: Real Woods by decision over Beau Bartlett 9-3

149: Max Murin by decision over Shayne Van Ness 12-3

157: Cobe Siebrecht by decision over Terrel Barraclaugh 15-3

165: Patrick Kennedy by decision over Alex Facundo 18-3

174: Carter Starocci by decision over Nelson Brands 18-6

184: Aaron Brooks by decision over Abe Assad 18-9

197: Max Dean by decision over Jacob Warner 18-12

285: Greg Kerkvliet by decision over Tony Cassioppi 18-15 Iowa

I will be damned if I let you or anyone else bad mouth the pinfall.

Max and two newcomers are going to stroll into Penn State and all win toss up matches just like that? They'll be a party in Iowa City if this happens.

I think 149, 165, and 285 are all tossups.  157 should see Siebrecht as favored IMO unless Haines goes.

125 Lee pin 6-0 Iowa

Put it in the books, WKN.

(If Haines doesn't rassle, Iowa wins 18-17.  With that in mind, I'm sure Cael sends him out.  It's not like Happy Valley Stables will be bare in another 3 years.  Maybe young Dalton Perry will be that big by then.  Or maybe Cael can get them to start at 165, lol.)

It is booked, danno.

And I cannot ever recall Sanderson starting at any other weight than 125.
