Mizzou simply doesn’t have the donors/NIL funds that Iowa/Michigan/tOSU do. It’ll depend on where he goes, but there are likely two scenarios. One he hears about the bags of money wrestlers are getting by entering the portal + a better RTC

I'm not certain OSU fits either scenario...

Quick reply.  I obviously have no facts.  You’re silly to go into the portal with “hopes” of $$$.  They’re upfront negotiating imo.   No way they are not.  Hard to “quit your job”.  Then say you opsied and didn’t.  Age old corporate American adage.   Don’t make a threat you aren’t willing to make good on.

I base half my speculation on …. They spend (the big xfers) almost no time in the portal before deciding as if money fell out of the sky in 48 or 24 hours.  Time will tell with this one obviously

Oh, I don’t believe for a minute that there was no reaching out prior to entering the portal. Basch has multiple times said on his podcast that he text Rocky and he said he wasn’t in the portal. Do I believe everything I hear? No. Do I try to respect 20ish year old college guys and give them the benefit of the doubt and expect (hope) that they follow the rules? Yes. Naive, yea, but try to think the best of people. Especially guys that I’ve watched since they were kids.

For me, this one is a little closer to home, so likely give more benefit than I have others. We’ll see where he goes and in my mind, that will depict the motive.

Doesn't really fit in this thread but Kurt Phipps is doing his masters in structural engineering at NC State - while noting that he is both:
1) Out of eligibility but
2) Totally down to help out with the program while he is there

Good on the young man.

Brian Soldano to Oklahoma?

He must be moving down to 174 or taking a redshirt this year while Parker completes his senior year

He has a redshirt, so I would not be surprised if that's what he ends up doing.

Can't imagine Soldano getting down to 174 at this point, eventhough it's probably it's his best chance to find sustained success and where RU fans hoped he would go next season.

I could see him doing this too.  There's something about these RU guys doing what's best for them once they leave New Brunswick.  Sammy Alvarez actually managed to not miss weight at Rider after being known almost exclusively for that at RU.

Just a visit. Wonder where he ends up

How many schools is he on now?  I wonder who is really willing to take the risk, given his track record.

Sammy wrestled 133lbs at Rutgers....He was up 2 weights at Rider...Probably had more to do with him not missing weight

So... not Iowa?

The tweet is down, so i can't see the image, but I thought the presumption was Michigan as the favorite?

Rocky Elam posted on X saying something along the lines of "I think y'all will be surprised" at around 1:00AM CT and then deleted it. I feel like that rules out Rutgers and Iowa. I don't know why I feel like its NC State.

It said something like "you guys will be surprised lol"

So the only logical choice is Presbyterian with Spencer Moore and a move to HWT.

Him and Trumble training together would be the tallest set of training partners in the history in NCAA yeah?

I'm guessing Pinto didn't like the cut down to 174. He dwarfed Haines. I was kind of shocked to see how much bigger he was in comparison.

Sounds like Minto needs to go up because he was a big 165. Could be that Pinto would find himself the odd man out.

Stewart has to be a package deal with his brother, right?  Can his brother make 197lbs or is he 285lbs through and through?
