TOKYO, March 3 (Reuters) - Honda has decided to produce its next-generation Civic hybrid in the U.S. state of Indiana, instead of Mexico, to avoid potential tariffs on one of its top-selling car models, according to three people familiar with the matter.

The change underscores how manufacturers are scrambling to adapt to U.S. President Donald Trump's proposed 25% tariffs on goods from Mexico and Canada. While several automakers have expressed concerns about the levies, Honda's move is the first concrete measure by a major Japanese car company.

Dang, more of that winning. This is getting old already. We were so accustomed to losing the last 4 yeas. I really need a drink, and I don't drink. The art of the deal.

Way odd.   There's plenty of open land out by Christmas Valley Oregon.   Shipping anything there is a different matter.

If by winning you mean paying more for a Honda. Sure.

Which is it boss?

Liberals argue that raising the minimum wage is essential because people need a living wage, (insert blue hair Portland people yelling here)………… yet they insist that doing so won’t increase prices for businesses like McDonald's. But when automakers like Honda move jobs from Mexico to Indiana—paying American workers more—suddenly, we’re told car prices must go up.   Hmmmmmm…. Have that cake and eat it too?

So which is it? If raising wages for burger flippers doesn’t make a Big Mac more expensive, why does raising wages for auto workers make a Honda $pricier? You can’t have it both ways.

At this point, making sense of this logic is like trying to satisfy a crazy bi polar woman—I keep putting in the effort, but somehow, I’m the one getting screwed.

You are a smart guy. I am a regular guy. But i will try this. A large factory in an American town. 2500 immediate jobs. Another 2500 supporting jobs. From the factory workers, truck drivers, diners, electricians and other good paying jobs created by the new factory. Good jobs for good families. American workers paying local, state and federal taxes. Isn't it a good idea to make the products we buy to be made in America. Even if it might cost more, isn't it worth it? Don't we need more good paying jobs here in America?

Pretty cool non answer.  Your politics tell me you defo want McDonald’s burger dudes to make 15-20-25+$ or more per hour.

Would you agree that you are not for the government mandating paying fast food workers a ton more?

lolololololololol.

you can't be serious. do you understand (you don't) how bad of a take this is?

it's absolutely mind numbing how the party that wants higher wages and unions also is concerned about prices.

how far is the democratic party from folding their arms and stomping their feet in demand that americans shouldn't have to work and get everything for free?

It didn't, and still doesn't, deserve an answer.

Ask the question of someone who made the statement.

So you do want the gov to mandate mcd workers get paid a ton more.  You have to have an opinion on the matter.

The jobs are worth it.  Win.  Vibes and pride is worth it.  Win.  Impact on sales is TBD.
