How in the world did the government spending get so far off the tracks? In less than a month Elon will and his 20 year olds will pry 1 trillion dollars out of the politicians cold dead hands. will

And, following through that line of thinking, you think the far right Republicans are the answer to the spending problem?

Trump was a Democrat until shortly before 2015.  Musk was considered the world's greatest climateer EV darling and voted for Biden in 2020.  Then both got targeted by the swampies - both on the swampie left and the swampie right!  There is nothing far right - nor even remarkably conservative from a political philosophy viewpoint -  about either man.

Ahh, pedantics. Good defense. Shall I name the specific person's name who cut the budget based on tMusk's recommendations to satisfy your needs?

STOP.

The structure of DOGE as an advisory body outside the formal government framework means Musk lacks the legal power to enact policy changes or make direct decisions like closing departments or altering budgets without further governmental processes.

You know what Musk is an expert at?  Efficiency, financial management, and innovation.  He has repeatedly done more with less at his companies by focusing on core competencies, streamlining production, and cutting unnecessary costs.

He has exceptional qualifications to advise the USA government on efficiency...

STOP, lmao calm down dude.

Point is this is unprecedented and neither you nor I know what his position allows him to do. You don't know that he can't fire somebody. Sure his companies have done well, partly due to overinflated valuations due to his political leanings, but when Musk and DOGE recommend firing personnel, cutting budgets, or whatever else they're doing, it immediately happens, whether it's Musk personally signing the termination letter or somebody else.

Oh... on the contrary. Both these evil halfwits are as far right as is possible - white supremacy to the core.

Neither should be in any kind of US Government leadership position. But this is where we find ourselves.

(DOGE) is some kind of efficiency group?

Nope - that's a smokescreen for firing anyone who might oppose them and instead replace them with mindless "loyalists" who will do their bidding without question. Not a prediction, that part is getting done.

Now they're on to firing both middle management and rank and file and replacing them with more puppet loyalists.

The swamp? That's the group behind the Project 2025 agenda that these wealthy, powerful, halfwits are following.

Trump and Musk are only the faces of the movement. The P25 is steering this ship.

If you don't believe me, that's probably a good thing. Look into it and find out for yourself.

Did it work?  Sometimes people need a good slap to wake them from their delusions.

This isn't pedantics.

Musk is not president.  He is not all powerful.  He is advising on how to make the government more efficient, in alignment with Agenda 47, in alignment with what the majority of the country supports.

Great!

The federal government has spent $711 billion more than it has collected in fiscal year (FY) 2025, and is on track to spend ~2T it does not have.

Will there be mistakes made?  Yes.  Is the speed worth it?  Absolutely.

I left the font big so you can read it slowly.   Pay attention to the bold part.

Musk has also expressed his opinion on topics from science and technology to religion and philosophy. Within the context of American politics, Musk voted for Democratic candidates from 2008 until 2020, before switching to Republican candidates in 2022, and supporting Donald Trump in 2024 who he previously feuded with.

Who cares that Project 2025 aligns with agenda 47 on some things.  Fixing government efficiency is a no brainer.

For the wingers, the ends justify the means. They don't care how something is done, legal or not, as long as they like the result.

100% morally bankrupt. There are no boundaries for them.

i have asked this question many times on here.

no one has answered.

the problem is b/c of this misunderstanding of numbers.

TEST:

draw a 4 inch line... put million on one end and Trillion on the other.

Then tell me, where does Billion go.

this illustrates the problem well in my mind.

ANSWER THE QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Billion is 4 thousandths from the million end. Essentially indistinguishable... Is your point that these cuts are amounting to nothing?

Key phrase is highlighted there.   They recommend.   They do not fire.   They do not cut budgets.   They recommend only.   It is up to Trump or a Cab Secretary to take action on firing or cutting a budget.

But when Trump does every single thing that he (who "donated" hundreds of millions to the campaign) recommends, it's clear who's in charge. President  Musk.

What is your stance on speeding in an emergency?

What is absolutely illegal about DOGE?

Have you read the EO?

https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/establishing-and-implementing-the-presidents-department-of-government-efficiency/

Obama made an executive order to create the United States Digital Service.  Trump renamed USDS to DOGE.  These DOGE teams are larger than special government employees like Musk and Big Balls.

  • DOGE Teams.  In consultation with USDS, each Agency Head shall establish within their respective Agencies a DOGE Team of at least four employees, which may include Special Government Employees, hired or assigned within thirty days of the date of this Order. Agency Heads shall select the DOGE Team members in consultation with the USDS Administrator.  Each DOGE Team will typically include one DOGE Team Lead, one engineer, one human resources specialist, and one attorney.  Agency Heads shall ensure that DOGE Team Leads coordinate their work with USDS and advise their respective Agency Heads on implementing the President ‘s DOGE Agenda.
  • Agency Heads shall take all necessary steps, in coordination with the USDS Administrator and to the maximum extent consistent with law, to ensure USDS has full and prompt access to all unclassified agency records, software systems, and IT systems.  USDS shall adhere to rigorous data protection standards.
  • This Executive Order displaces all prior executive orders and regulations, insofar as they are subject to direct presidential amendment, that might serve as a barrier to providing USDS access to agency records and systems as described above.

It's just insane that anyone would work so hard to cover up government corruption. But I guess some leaders are raking in the dough from it, or they’re scared stiff to lose power when the truth comes out.

And how can everyday folks support those who want to keep this mess in the dark?

Then you've got Elon Musk, getting all this flak just for trying to do something good for everyone.
