NO KYLE DAKE ? Wow - how soo they forget, how fleeting is the glory....

Some would say thats a large omission, but some of you don't remember those third of dozen matches he had his sophmore year that were sort of boring.

1st two weights are stacked:

125: Lee (also could go at 133), Nickerson, Garrett (also in running for 133), Old school Dave Auble

133: Vito, David Hirsch

141: Mark Fergerson?

149: Yianni

157: Leen

165: Dake

174: Lewnes

184: Dean

197: Simaz

285: ?

Isn't it Dake at 4 weight classes and 6 other guys?

in that case I'm putting Lee at the bottom two weights.

Forgot about Garrett too, hard not to put him in at 133, his senior year run was definitely hodge level....I think I'm bumping Vito, gotta take National Champ Lee over non champ garrett and one armed nickerson right?

Not only can Dake never win a fantasy matchup he now can't make a fantasy lineup

I Don't Agree With What I Posted

Just like all other fantasy matches, Kyle Dake loses.

141 Freshman Yianni vs 141 Dake: Yianni wins because he's smart (taps his forehead) and would never lose to a freshman like 141 Dake

141 Sophomore Yianni vs 141 Dake: Yianni wins because he's already made a world team* [the PSU lawyers disagree]. Dake couldn't make a world team until he was 27 years old // 18 years old in Benjamin Button years

149 Junior Yianni vs 149 Dake: Yianni wins because he's only months away from winning a world silver medal to break the US 65k drought which is something Dake never did in college

149 Senior Yianni vs 149 Dake: Yianni wins because senior Yianni is more experienced than sophomore Dake. It's not like he's some overhyped PSU guy like that Taylor fella.

It is pretty wild that no Cornell heavy has ever AA'd.

Your multi-time qualifiers are:

So, it has to be Fernandes with 4 total victories and a blood round finish.

It's unreasonable to expect Dake to make a fantasy lineup in the year 2025. What is he, like 14 years old now?

Fernandes was one of the most dominant wrestlers in NJ history too.  Unfortunate that he only had the chance to wrestle in 2 NCAA tournaments.  Maybe Iowa will pull him out of retirement in 4 years for a stopgap after Kueter, he still has 1 year (maybe 2 depending on the leniency of medical years) of eligibility.

cool topic. i'll take some liberties here...

125: Travis Lee - 4x EIWA Champ, 2x NCAA Champ, ended with most wins in Ivy History and first ever Ivy 4x AA

beats out TNick 1x Champ, 3x EIWA Champ, 4x AA

133: Vito Arujau - 4-3-1-1 and his last two were thrilling.

beats out Nahshon who was 3-2-5-1

141: Yianni D - 4x won his first two at 141

149: Kyle Dake - 4xer. His title at 149 came over Molinari in the finals, who would be the champ the next year.

157: Jordan Leen - 2008 NCAA Champ beat fellow Champ Gregor Gillespie in quarters

Meyer Shapiro pending.

165: Mack Lewnes - 3x AA. Finalist. 4x EIWA Champ

174: Brian Realbuto - 3x AA. NCAA Runner Up* at 157. Was 5th as SR at 174.

Beats out Chris Foca, who was 3rd as a SO and has one more shot.

184: Gabe Dean - 4x AA, 2x Champ, win over Ed Ruth

beats out Steve Bozak - 3x AA, 1x Champ over Quentin Wright

197 - Cam Simaz - 4x AA, 1x Champ, 4x EIWA Champ

285 - Never Had an AA. I guess i'd go with Lewis Fernandes.

Counter with Dave Auble.  Bolded bits are what might boost him above Lee. From Cornell Wrestling's record book (I believe this was before freshman eligibility):

Quote

1959 (123) • 1960 (123)
One of the greatest wrestlers in Cornell history, Auble won three straight Eastern tournaments in the 123-pound weight class and was voted by Eastern coaches as the outstanding wrestler two of those years (1959 and 1960). He won two NCAA titles in the same weight class and was voted the outstanding wrestler of the national tournament his senior year. His collegiate record from 1958 to 1960 was a sparkling 51-1, with his only loss came in the opening round of the National Intercollegiates in his sophomore year.

Remember hearing that name for the first time when Hirsch beat Staylor in the early 90's...and only a few times since. But know firsthand lee was that "dude"..
