I’m not sure if it will be Kerk or Hendrickson, but I think one of them beats him.

Getting flashbacks to 2022 Spencer Lee with most people seeming to assume him winning is a foregone conclusion.

How confident are you that he loses? That's a pretty long shot. Are you actually predicting this to happen or just putting it out that you think Gable could lose this year?

I've said it in a previous thread that I do want to see his resolve if someone can take him to deep water. I'm curious how much fight he'll have if he gets tired and has to battle. He hasn't needed to/done so since the 2021 Olympics.

I mean not very confident and even if I bet at all I probably wouldn’t bet on it, but sure, I’ll say I’m predicting it.   Although I’m not sure what I’d do if I was filling out a bracket as I’m not confident in predicting who beats him.  I’d probably lean Hendrickson at this moment.

Nothing against Steveson but I'd love to see it

I have nothing against Steveson personally, but as a wrestling fan, I am very over the whole Gable schtick. Is he wrestling, is he not? Will he come back, won't he? IMO he shouldn't have eligibility if he simply chose not to participate the past two years. And the retroactive "Olympic Redshirt" for athletes that weren't enrolled in college nor entered in a single freestyle tournament is a joke.

I don't think he can lose. Hendrickson is too much of a goon and Kerk never caught the PSU lightening bolt.

Sure but is Jimmy a Gable fan?

Say whatever you want but I freaking love watching this dude wrestle. Total control on the mat. USA wrestling needs him to give it another Olympic run.

What does this even mean?

it was a rude way of saying his wrestling isn't sophisticated enough to beat Steveson. He's really open and really bold, but he's not good enough to make his blitzkrieg work on steveson. Should have said it nicer.

if he fails at his true calling, guessing peoples weights at carnivals, he is gonna seriously think on it.

I just wasn't sure what you meant. I take no offenses on behalf of Wyatt.

I actually think Wyatt has a better chance of beating Gable than Kerk. I think Wyatt is more likely to get into an exchange where he could score big points/a fall than Kerk. You aren't beating Gable by playing his game.

Haha that’s actually a great gig for an old retired wrestling coach.

From what I saw today, Gable is a better than ever.  No one is beating him in the US.

All due respect, Feldman teched Harley Andrews faster than Gable did.. So maybe today wasn't the best overall indicator of whether he's better than ever or not.

I do agree with this a lot.  He didn’t take much:any flack for bailing/failing in wwe and the nfl.

I know he’s said that he’s bigger than he’s ever been for wrestling (IIRC, ~275 now vs ~250 in the past).  He did seem to have a little bit of a belly today.  So I think it is possible he might actually not be as quick as he’s been previously

Thread title: I don't think Steveson will win.

After clarifying question:  I wouldn't bet on it.

I keep thinking that somebody might ride him.

his true freshmen year he didn't have third period, so it wouldn't amaze me, but someone has to keep him close enough to make riding matter.

I mean in that same sentence I did say I’m predicting it.  So I take that back, if I actually bet on stuff (which I really don’t) then I’d bet on it.

you're wrong, people who only make predictions they would bet their lives on are boring.
