Did I get this correct?  Correa commits to Michigan.  Michigan recruits over him.  Correa decommits.  Correa commits to Cornell months later.  Where's the outrage?

While I usually find Yianni’s sanctimonious comments about recruiting a bit much, in this case, good for Correa. Both he and Sahakian were slated to go 285 at UM.

I'm waiting for it.  The kid had already committed.  Now it is ok for Cornell to commit a kid who had committed?  It wasn't when OSU recruited Vega.

I think the Wolverines were hoping Correa might be able to go 197.

Correa had uncommitted some time ago, IIRC, because of something Michigan did, not because of something Cornell did (unless you know otherwise).  He was a free agent.  Vega never decommitted from Cornell until he committed to OSU.  Kinda like Correa broke up with his girlfriend, then met a new girlfriend, while Vega started going out with a new girlfriend before breaking up with his old girlfriend.  What did I miss?

Uncommitted? I couldn't find that term in NCAA handbook.  Please find it for me.  (It doesn't exist.)

Clearly Vega was also a free agent, especially since he never signed an NIL.

My point is that it isn't going to happen, because he is a hypocrite.  Not understanding that is the most internet thing ever.

I certainly don't expect it after the all time biggest violator of this "unwritten rule" was Cornell's head coach.

I get pointing out the hypocrisy, I would make the distinction that I doubt Yianni was being a conscious hypocrite. It is gauche to lament the practice of an institution you belong to without acknowledging it, but its hard to fault the guy for registering his disapproval at all.

Correa clearly said that he was opening up his recruiting. He felt he was recruited over with Michigan getting Sahakian. Also why it looked like he was out for blood in the Flo match with him.

Yes, but clearly Vega's recruiting was more open than Cornell wants to admit.

Isn't Sahakian not as good as Correa? Why would MI even do that?

We know that now that Correa whooped him at who’s #1 but idk if a lot of people would have said that before.

It seemed odd to me that Michigan wouldn't at least have had a conversation with a top ranked 215 commit about what weight he would go in college, before going after a top ranked Hwt.

I believe Correa made it known he was re-opening his availability he was not at all pleased with michigan bringing someone else in let alone flipping someone who was also previously committed I believe to ASU. I don't really care about guys flipping prior to enrolling somewhere so I don't mind the Vega instance either. However I think this is still a bit different from that.

Doesn't this flip have major financial consequences for Correa personally? At MI, scholarship money, NIL cash, and financial aid. At Cornell, just financial aid.

Are Ivies allowed to offer NIL?

Yes, because NIL isn’t technically from the school.

I thought part of the reason Koll left Stanford was because he felt like he could not compete with their inability to offer NIL.
