I would put Tyler Caldwell ... up there as two time runner-ups and four time AAs.

... and if I recall the guys who beat Tyler were no slouchs.

On the topic of best wrestlers not to win in last 20 years, honorable mention to Kolin Moore. Solid 4 year career, but after Bo Nickal graduated he was unstoppable his senior year and I thought would have been gauranteed to win if tournament was not canceled. But I also thought Myles Martin was a sure thing the year before, before Dean (I think) upset him.

"beat" is a strong word don't you think?  Branch tore his acl in the finals and had to default.  😉

weber took him down and branch hurt himself as the ref was was about to start calling back points...so no.

Th beauty of folkstyle wrestling. I think Hendrickson is a better mat wrestler and if he can steal a td and get the match on the mat...it's possible. Also like his chain wrestling ability, in flurry situations. DT and this program seem to fit him perfectly..

i think he's not even in Gable's league.

For the past 20 years who are the best wrestlers to never win a title? Fix and Gilman come to mind.

Sam Hazewinkle.  4 total NCAA losses.  Won 2012 olympic trials in FS and was 2008 olympic trials runnerup in GR.

Hendrickson is a better technician, but Steveson is quicker, stronger, faster and has a snap down go behind from hell.

Hendrickson is legitimately a top 20 in the US, at any level, technician. It just so happens he can't execute that technique against opponents who are the (formerly and hopefully still) best in the world or a big ass oak tree. Don't forget that right before Parris won a world medal Hendrickson darn near broke his ribs. Levels and such, just giving him his proper respect on the way to another 3rd place medal.

i am an idiot on the internet
