  1. Looks like the effort of guys who go at it in the room all the time and it's become onesided.
  2. Guys, I don't know why I need to tell the wrestling community this, but it's okay to boo and heckle people at sporting events. Some would say it's part of the experience. JB understands smack talk I'm sure.
  3. Someone post a screencap of the singlet grab. I didnt see a thing.
  4. JB did not have a whole lot of his own offense all day. He was trying to win on veteran moxy, which got him to the finals. He didn't exactly light up Facundo and Messenbrink, both of whom would probably be very challenging in a rematch. Father time always wins.
  5. Was that the record for Burroughs sock adjustments?
  6. If Carr caught him in a double I can only imagine what JB will do. Unless JB is totally over the hill.
  7. As a non JB Fan, he will tech Mesenbrink before the pace becomes a factor. Won't be close.
  8. Will he be the Michigan 149 this season?
  9. The only real counterpoint would be 74KG is a much tougher class and therefore it means more. Outside of Taylor and Yazdani at 86 it's a ghosttown. But 74 is and always will be loaded.
  10. Nolf just looks like he has fully ascended. His Nolfjutsu is on another level recently. I bet he winds up our rep.
  11. I believe the direct quote was, "You will never get this, you will never get this. Lalalalala."
  12. I remember that video being so much clearer in 2009 lol, the times they are a changing. Dake was/is just a freak. I can't really recall any other freshmen coming in as complete as he was. Maybe Schlatter, but in retrospect it all makes sense. Haines actually gave me a kind of similar vibe this year coming in with as much physicality as he had. Too bad he had to wrestle his grandfather in the final and see true old man strength.
  13. Perhaps my most controversial wrestling opinion. 125 - Nick Suriano @ Michigan was the best I've ever seen at the weight. Just so sound everywhere.
  14. Not for nothing, but give me Freshman 141 Dake over Senior Steiber. That isn't the greatest matchup for logie bear. Dake was an absolute powerhouse at 141 with freakish athleticism. I recall vividly rooting for Reece Humphrey at the time too and wondering who the hell this true freshman was. Probably Dake's closest match at the NCAAs.
  15. I would highly doubt we ever see RBY on the mats again. He seemed pretty disinterested this year and wants to transition to MMA.
  16. Vito looked positively Russian and I mean that in the most complimentary way. The transitional fluidity was nuts. I must eat crow as I formerly considered RBY the fastest and was definitely proven wrong tonight. He was either wholly unprepared for the speed or just thought he could coast. What an amazing effort from Vito.
  17. Figured I'd start a thread because it's impossible to tell these days who can come back. Anyone know a comprehensive list?
  18. No no, Dake was a huge 141 and maybe the biggest 149 I've ever seen. The man strength was always a factor or Reece Humphrey would've had him.
  19. It's not like Brands has a strong track record of protecting Lee's knees so this checks out.
  20. Listen to this man, this is a man of culture. Johnnie's Beef is the stuff of legends. Try the Italian Ice too!
  21. Had a few of these brewing in the chamber, felt like I needed to get them out. -I would not be shocked if someone other than Lee or Glory won 125 this year. I foresee gas-tanks being an issue for both guys, and it wouldn't entirely surprise me if someone else emerged at the weight. -Keegan O'toole is pretty good. Like, he is pretty good and will probably win a few titles but his trajectory isn't what I thought it was. Don't get me wrong, he is a great collegiate wrestler, I just expected more of a jump from him this season in dominance. Kinda feels like Carr is going to win this weight to me. -Yianni is the HEW champ right now, guy hasn't taken a break in years. It seems like it's showing, either that or he has nothing left to prove. -Beau Bartlett is going to win 141 and everyone should have seen this coming. - Austin O'Connor is going to get a second title against all odds.
  22. I think Yianni takes the next one. It does occur to me that he is a PRIME HEW candidate though. Guy has been nonstop for as long as I can remember, he's probably ready for his collegiate career to end.
