intermat forums seem to be having a lot of down time the last 4/5/6 weeks.  I haven’t counted but they seem to have had a lot of significant performance issues or full blown outages recently.  Anyone else notice this?   They often take 60-90 minutes of down time 😞

Maybe they’re just on my side.   I only posted / asked as it is never other sites when it happened…. To attempt to rule out an isp issue on my side.

Do you have an eero or mesh network set up? I haven’t had any issues with this site on any format, browser or machine but I did have issues with security settings on my eero on some sites - many with an ad that played before a video.

Insert catchy tagline here.

I literally do have an eero.     Hmmmm.   I’ll take a look at that thanks.

While typing the message, the site stops for 10 seconds, then it is good for 10 seconds so that I cannot see what I am typing.   It is very frustrating.

What I've noticed with it was the built in security within the eero would block ads, but that means it blocks video from playing that have ads built in before it - like say, an ESPN player. So I went to disable that site-by-site so it can open up college sports sites (Which have trackers built into their freaking drop-down menus). Sometimes when an ad wants to play a video to get to the next step, that causes things to hang. I use the Brave Browser for MOST of my stuff (on a Mac) and don't have any issues with unnecessary ads. I will turn the brave shields off for some sites, like things that need to save specific logins, etc.

I've had similar.  Maybe it stops when Bob roll over in his grave.  🙅‍♀️

@MPhillips says nobody cares.  I don't always believe everything MP says but it appears he knows what he is talking about on this one.

You're exactly right here - it's about 3rd party sources being blocked.

In other words if you're communicating with a web site - you are the 1st person. The web site is the 2nd person.

When, along the way, the web site (2nd person) decides to bring in video from an ad server you have no awareness of (3rd person) to show you, your browser decides it should be blocked because it isn't part of the 1st to 2nd person conversation.

In other words, your browser is your best friend and just did you a favor.

You can change the way your browser is configured to allow more 3rd party intervention... but I wouldn't. And I wouldn't recommend encouraging others do it either.

It's a matter of privacy and security setting strength - don't change the settings to make these things weaker. That's bad.

Let your web site provider know about your problem.

Require them adjust to modern security standards, not the other way around. Contribute to making the web better.
