Banking on Nelson Brands improving throughout the year is not an acceptable excuse for pushing your blue chip recruit out of his ideal weight class.

ILLINI HOT TAKES

Hot Take: Ramazan Attasauov will eventually acclimate to 125 pounds and finish on the podium. It's a hot take because he's already behind schedule.

What's your take on Drew Davis?  If he wrestles Attasauov later this season, who wins?  Is Davis a freshman phenom or was Attasauov just pulling too much weight?

Hot Take

All 3 of Iowa's high dollar recruits (Parco, Teemer, and Buchanan) place lower at NCAAs than they did last season.

That would be against the grain on transfers coming to Iowa

They can’t develop their recruits and they buy guys who come in and don’t place much higher

DeSanto, Eireman, Lugo, Caliendo, and Woods all placed higher than they did at their previous school. The only guy who did worse was Franek and he still AAd. Must be doing something right.

Woods and Eireman were in their fifth year of college. That's a long way up.

thats not a hot take, both because its 3 guys who've been in college too long and because no one on this forum is gonna stick up for Iowa anyway.
