Taylor's Assistants at OKST

Let it begin!

who do we have for assistants??

I have a feeling Mark McKnight goes out there with him for some reason. Dake I'm not sure about especially with what his family is going through right now... maybe after the Olympics and things settle down he could be a guy that heads out there... Does he keep Perry? Does Coleman want any part in it?

Also with the transfer portal/NIL and its fluidity these days, Taylor could end up getting some big time transfers... just think of guys like Hendrickson and Alirez... if this was announced sooner who knows  if they don't go there with him...

also, by his own words, it wouldn't be the optimal level of latitude for him to live, given his ancestry.

LOL...that's not real, is it?

I'd love to see a list of Dake-isms.

I'm paraphrasing, but hand to the bible, that's what he was espousing in a video I saw within the last couple of years.  And its a part of his thesis about reversing the aging process - a person must find the right environment for their unique ancestral background in order to physically thrive

Yes ... Dake wins all fantasy coaching matches above 42 degrees.

I think he has to clean house.  Maybe Mark Hall? Dake eventually? Molinaro?

Yup, he's got to go with new folks. Gotta get rid of the stagnation of the previous regime. The only one I want them to keep is Coleman Scott, and he's not going to hang around if he's not HC.

It also isn't a good idea to keep somebody who wanted the job and will leave right away.

I love mark hall, but he's so done with the sport, he has been for years.

I was thinking Dake as the new Cowboy RTC head, would be more respectful of his experience.  Taylor and Dake would be an incredible pair, Dake is the best mind in US wrestling beside Cael, but I don't know how good he is at teaching that to others.  The quintessential good wrestler vs good coach question.

We know he'll be able to kick everyone's ass in the room though.  That was the standard that made the old Gable Iowa room work.  No matter who you were, Gable would still be able to kill you.

LOL, you don't actually believe that do you? That "no matter who you were, Gable would still be able to kill you" comment? That's nonsense, Gable was a tiny guy and a lot better wrestler than I was, obviously, but as a 190 pounder you'd better believe I'd have pulled him apart like a wishbone. Those big guys who claim Gable was tossing them around in practice are full of shit.

I’ve wrestled some wolverine mfers who felt like they were made of wood.

I have watched gabe dean’s eyes after he got absolutely rag dolled by kyle dake.  There are levels to human beings. A man who had 40 lbs on dake, and a man who finished 3-1-1-2 at ncaa’s.

People tell the same stories about John Smith from the 2000’s in the OSU room.

I think Mike Mal said it best.  “Eric Guerrero would ragdoll me, just embarrass me, I can’t move him a foot, and then he would go with John, and he would look like he’d never wrestled a day in his life.”

So yes, I believe those stories.  Our ego’s don’t want us to believe those stories.  Video evidence is helping keep our egos in check.
