I didn’t think that one was a TD.  Did they not review it at all though?

Rutgers threw a brick, but the ref indicated there was no video available for the dual.

Just finished watching and Sparks did acknowledge no replay available later on.  Imagine if that happened in Iowa

The referee acknowledged it as soon as Rutgers threw the brick in the 125 match.

How can the #1 team in the country host a dual in the BJC and not have video replay available?

Legit question regardless of whether it was a TD or not.   Does the NCAA and B10 require that you have video replay available?

Agree... it was an NCAA violation that caused pain and suffering. I hear the NLWC has like 6 million.

Shouldn't matter since Davis was pinned and you can't challenge pins ... oh wait they failed to call the pin.  😕

Why even give coaches bricks if there is no video review?

I thought the same thing last night. But this morning I read on HVI that they finally got the video review system running at the end of the 133 match. That poster claimed that by then, by rule it could not be used since it was not available for all the matches. Sounds like they had bricks because they planned to have video review, but the best laid plans of mice and men...

Yes and no to NCAA requirement.

It's not required to have video available.

However, it is required to inform all institutions involved (in this case just one other one) about how they're doing it.

Either they didn't inform Rutgers about it, Rutgers forgot, or the third possibility- it was unexpectedly non-functional at that point. Given that they provided bricks I think the third (and I see WKN says he read elsewhere the same thought)

while I would love an excuse to say he should have another loss, watching it back it was definitely only 2 seconds so no danger TD. He may have been stuck but thats not reviewable and also probably rarely if ever going to get called in a position like that so quickly.

It’s a big ten requirement to have review and Penn state obviously has a review system but the system went down while they were testing it shortly before the match and didn’t get it up and running til 141 at which point you aren’t allowed to use it bc it wasn’t available for all the matches

The requirement isn't quite for all matches since if it went down during other than the first match what about the ones before? The rule is that if they can't fix it during that match where it was requested then it is suspended for the remainder.

Honestly, the match flowed so much better without review. Calls rarely change anyway.

Without a 3rd party review its rare that the call is changed.
