Judging from how low he tried to go on that split... he need to practice some more (ya know, stretch out his legs further.)

When he hollers several octaves higher than normal, he perfected it!

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Will the double bird splits become a thing?

OMG, I hope not!

Yes.

He also has the Queen song playing in the background. But he changed the lyrics slightly to   I am the champion of the world.

I’ve been stretching like crazy the last few days but I’m not sure I’ll be limber enough to bring it into my middle school classroom routine anytime this year.

Don't forget that you need the official haircut of Iowa...the mullet! That completes the costume!

Does it seems that Kentucky Mudflap has a patent for that look?

(Somebody needs to look into that... )

Just wait until a wrestler tries it, pulls a groin muscle or hamstring and loses the season.

Okay, so as not to start a new thread, I'll just add my two favorite athlete related obscene gestures of sporting history. This one above has garnered so much attention, and it is physically impressive, but i think it rates kind of low in the grand scheme of things.

Best gesture from a losing athlete: Think this ebay listing actually has an authentic autograph? https://www.ebay.com/itm/225794695690

Awesome because he's flipping off the yankees, obviously.

Best overall: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Władysław_Kozakiewicz#Olympic_gold_and_Kozakiewicz's_gesture

in Poland, they apparently re-named the gesture in honor of this specific salute he gave to the russian crowd in 1980.

Cool article about the Polish pole vaulter:

The Russian crowd was whistling... at any non-Russian contestant. They were whistling to distract us, you can only imagine the noise: 70,000 people at the Luzhniki Stadium, probably only 10,000 of them were tourists.

It occurred to me that I'm the only person in the world who got whistled at for breaking the world record. So when I landed, I showed them this 'Polish shaft', the nicest one you can imagine. I expressed my anger at the whistling Soviet audience; nobody whistles in athletics. If you take a look at TV broadcasts, you find that people either clap rhythmically when they feel like it, or simply sit quietly

Maybe AJ can do this to the Iowa crowd after winning his fourth NCAA and we can call it the Ferrari in the US

That was me! My boss told me how the pay increase was not in the budget, so I gave him the Ferrari Salute! Oh and my boss wouldn't even help me up. CURSE WORD!

Doesn't Dan Gable have copyright on that in Iowa, although if AJ becomes an Iowa guy maybe Dan will give him a good rate.

That was a quote from the Polish pole vaulter who was saying that T&F crowds are respectful and never whistle while the fans at the Moscow Olympics were a-holes Moscow and hence the salute

the amazing thing about that image is how ferrari's dumbfounded expression make it look like just lost his footing and fell into the splits by accident
