With rumors of Koll leaving for Oklahoma and Griffith transferring out, do y'all think Stanford is wanting to be done with their wrestling program? I find it strange for Koll to be leaving so soon. Maybe he isn't feeling good about the future of the program and wants to get out?

I'm just joking around, but it would make a heck of a story and probably be a good for fundraising.

It'd be good for fundraising, it'd bring a TON of attention to the sport.

The problem is, are you recruiting young, male athletes...to Wrestle for a Women? I'm not trying to be sexist, just realistic. They can know more than anyone...but it's asking a lot. I think it's the same with Becky Hamon in the NBA or I can't think of a Female coach in the NFL.

Get Dake and Taylor to go be her assistants for 200K a year with some of the money they raised and you might have some success out of the gate, but that's always going to be a problem you'll face as Women try to break into Men's sports as coaches. And if this was on Twitter, people would play dumb and ask why it's fine for Male Coaches to coach women's team like this is an issue you can argue away!

$5 gas, CA taxes and trying to find anything affordable in Atherton, Los Altos Hills, Woodside, etc., would make any coaching honeymoon in the Bay Area something to reflect on.

Koll is a smart guy.  I’m pretty sure he looked into the COL before taking the job.

Stanford has many programs to assist in housing for faculty and staff.

All that considered, no one in their right mind would leave Stanford for Oklahoma.

Why? If you lean conservative California would be the threshold of hell. You could not pay me to go live out there. If Koll did not like the political climate at Cornell, surely it’s no better at Stanford.

Because he could easily live in a bubble in Palo Alto and assuming he makes a decent salary could cruise along and finish in the Top 3 of his conference every year, have his pick of West Coast talent, own the camp scene in CA, enjoy nice food and weather... It would be like a vacation compared to a lot of the other jobs out there.

Top 3 in conference is not a huge accomplishment when there are 6 teams in the Pac 12.

He does not have pick of West Coast talent.

A half a million people with substantial means have left cal. in the last two years for some reason.

Retirees with massively overvalued homes, who saw the writing on the wall re: inflation/housing market and cashed in while they could?

You can say that again....

I live in an area that has had a mass influx of CA, OR and WA people... 99% of the time it's politics and values.  Almost every conversation is the same.

Have you been to Oklahoma? There's a reason they gave it away.

[Intro: Groucho, speaking]

Well, I'm certainly grateful for this magnificant washout. Uh, turnout. And now, I'd like to say a few words:

[Sung portion begins]

[Groucho]
Hello, I must be going
I cannot stay
I came to say
I must be going
I'm glad I came
But just the same
I must be going, la-la!

[Margaret Dumont]
For my sake you must stay
If you should go away
You'll spoil this party
I am throwing

[Groucho]
I'll stay a week or two
I'll stay the summer through
But I am telling you
I must be -- going

[Party guests]
Before you go
Won't you oblige us
And tell us all your deeds so glowing?

[Groucho]
I'll do anything you say
In fact I'll even stay!

[Party guests]
Good!

[Groucho Marx]
But I must be -- going!

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

The natives demanded our best and we gave it to them.  😉
