Nolf is only 27.  He's in his prime.  KOT wasn't close to beating Nolf.  Nolf schooled him in the first period and was one point from a tech.  He played defense in the second period.

He played with his food.

I'm sure the staff wasn't entirely happy with Nolf's 2nd period vs KOT, and will look for ways to make improvements going forward.

The match ended 9-2.

Nolf outscored O'Toole 9-0 in the first period.

O'Toole outscored Nolf in the second period.

O'Toole is really good, young, and improving.  He will be challenging for our #1 spot very soon.

Nolf demolished O'Toole. There are many grasping at hopium straws here. Nolf took a vacation in the second period, and still O'Toole was only able to score once. The staff probably told Nolf to get some more mat-time in. He spent under 8 minutes wrestling in his previous three matches, all (10-0, 11-0) techs. There's no doubt that he was coasting at a loose 60-70% sparring pace in the final period against O'Toole, keeping a sharp defense. Notice how he was able to avoid giving up the takedown with :23 seconds left after a great high crotch shot by O'Toole. Nolf was loose. Then notice the final seconds when he reattacked on the low shot after stuffing two shot attempts by O'Toole.

Up 9-2 halfway through the second period, the strategy is to avoid situations in which one could be injured. O'Toole is a very creative wrestler, and Nolf did a great job shutting him down and cruising to victory. Nolf looks great.

?? Pls say more.

Three step outs as Guilford was tiring.

She didn't really contest any of them.

3 stepouts with 3 cautions.

DQ

Note: Guilford was up 8-0 when this sequence of stepouts started.

She kind of just stood up and made no effort to circle in.

To be clear Gray just pushed her straight out three straight times.  She knew what she was doing, though, as she threw her arms up after the third pushout before the 3rd C1 was even called.

She gave up after Gray showed no fight and little life in the first five minutes.

I was late signing onto FLO, and saw Gray down 7-zip... I was floored!

THEN, seeing all that was mentioned above.

All I can say is... wow!

D3

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

You still want Gray over Blades in the finals?  I got Blades by TF.  In the 1st.

Gray is savvy and methodical but compared to Blades very slow.

Blades is quick and athletic with a killer instinct.

The old guard meets the avant guard.

Blades has to stay out from under Gray's heavy hips and be more tactical with her shots.
