This is more than pretty fair, to be honest.

Results are results and results VS potential results are what we're talking.

Murin was a grinder that Iowa might not have the likes of at 149 again for some time.  Every match was brutal for his opponent and they knew that going in.  He will be a missed commodity.

For a while, I thought he was in danger of HEW. The situation was not kind to him and you could see his mental struggles. Glad he made it through to the other side, no doubt as stronger, better person.

Yes, Murin didn't AA until his senior year, but he was Rd 12 every year prior.

VV went 2-2 last year, with a win over Jaden Abas (just to tie into the Abas/Lee debate), and finished Rd 16

So objectively Murin was ahead of VV at this stage in he career.

Damn, Jamison too.  If Iowa's offseason wasn't such a trainwreck, Minny would be having the worst one.

Nah. Ours is worse. Northwestern at least has the excuse that their guys were grad transfers and maybe couldn’t get in to grad school. We have no excuse. Iowa only lost one guy.

Maybe it just feels worse because it's my team and i'm self involved?

But look at the bright side, they don't have 3 Ferraris banging on their door.  🙂

I am much less worried about losing Chittum after the things that have transpired over the last few days.

Not concerned about Kluever or Polanco at all. And honestly, not entirely too concerned about Blockhus leaving either. I think he had a PHENOMENAL postseason where everything came together great for him, similar to Jake Bergeland two years ago. I feel like coming back for a sixth year could have played out similar to Bergelands and I’m not mad that Blockhus is going out on top.

Gable leaving has nothing to do with coaching or the program. He’s getting big money to do what he’s always wanted. Feel like he was never going to stick around for 5 years.

Nagao, Spratley, and Jamison is what has the alarm bells ringing. That’s bad.

So he entered the portal after the deadline? So, he's sitting next year?

Crazy stuff... I wanted to see Jameson do well in Minny. Fun kid to watch.  I am wondering if this has anything to do with Chittum decommitting from Iowa?

Don't forget the brutal injury to Brayton Lee that made him look like a shell of himself. Been a rough year.

Negative split. Now you are talking my language.

But he didn't want that negative split. Seemed like a lot of effort even though he was clearly up to it. That screaming coach was a god send. He hated her, but now as an adult he finally gets it. Lol.

Has nothing to do with it... Abas wrestled a full schedule all 4 years and wrestled back through consolation. Has nothing to do with only winning 3 titles or at what weight. Now you want to move the goalposts to international where he won a silver at the Olympics at just about the same age that Spencer is now with no international career? Okay.... Like I said, I really don't care about the debate between Abas and Lee, but your Lee glasses just cause you to go into defense mode and start saying stuff that's stupid.

I would put Abas ahead of Lee!!! I just said that Pac-10 was a weak conference! (and was clarifying that NHS was likely arguing that 2020 Lee was the most dominant 125 we have seen)
