West Virginia boy + heavyweight + Natty Light = easy win for you

Now if we are strictly talking an NCAA championship or even greco the following month, I'll take that bet

  • Bob +1 1

I'm feeling pretty confident.  I'll say no odds.  The opponent can have the field.  Loser has to use an avatar chosen by the winner for a full six months (lol)

Haha fair.  This is my traditional way of saying "this is my favorite dark horse for a friendly competition"  I think he will be bigger this year after another year of bulking.  Kueter and Feldman were the two that sort of got the better of him last year, but very close matches.

In the past my guarantees included:
Dean Hamiti beating Alex Marinelli
Jesse Mendez beating Roman Bravo-Young.

Its not unheard of but he's been becoming a heavyweight for like 7 years. If he had a time it would be very odd if it hasn't passed.

Did you see him last year? He was massive! I don't recall there ever being a bigger 197-to-HWT jump.

I think he'd be better off dropping 15ish pounds and wrestling around 245-250 with "better" weight. I think he lost a little speed and was prone to gassing late in matches.

I was hoping that was, weight cut. I'll always blame Wiscy.

I thought the same thing, he really packed on the pounds and looked like a true heavyweight.

Taye Ghadialili put on a ton of weight and felt it ended up being counterproductive. So he dropped weight during the season.

My understanding is that he used two season ago to bulk up - got injured before that season with a bad injury.  only came back right before last season - first time wrestling matches in the new weight class- after a long absence and adjusting to the gain.  I think was gassing because of the cut when he was at 197.  I believe that a healthy offseason of training is going to have him as a well-adjusted HWT.

I'll take on your wager @flyingcement but only if you explain why you think Amos will finally break through

Separately, I think we lost a handful of good heavies to graduation and he only has two guys who will challenge him from last years group.  But he was close with both anyway.
