Also heard he did little practicing as well.  PSU wins, Okie St / Nebraska 2nd / Iowa/Ohio State/ VT 4th.  Only team that could really benefit would be VT.  Otherwise just a lot of drama to be off the podium doesn't make sense.

If he'd have gone to VT last year, I would've been more into it.  At this point, he'd be more a distraction than he's worth.  Love the advancement points he'd likely give, but I don't think it's worth the headache

Madonna also was closer to the forefront of a sophmoric, retrogressive pseudo-intellectual movement that had some value culturally.

If you had to boil down my paris hilton point it's basically that Its better to be anonymous than cringe.  The pertinent example currently is someone like Josh Hokit, who is almost blatantly a complete phony making empty noise in the hope of garnering the cheapest and most rancid version of fame, i'm more impressed with the guys who value their authenticity (some loud and some quiet).

You are such a puzzle to me. You'll tilt at windmills and have imaginary arguments with unwilling participants... then post something amazingly thoughtful and articulate like this. Keep being you! haha

To be honest, I was expecting him to say much worse. I mean, c’mon, Melania Trump is personally attacked on network late night shows (before they were all cancelled, I suppose) multiple times a week.

I think Hokit planned to take it much further but chickened out when he cut his usual Dr Suess speech short. For a second, I thought he was going to completely break character, recognize the moment not being right for his act, say his thanks and call it a night… he just couldn’t resist the temptation.

Now everyone in the world wants to see him lose. The only chance the UFC has to make that happen is by giving him a top three opponent (Gane, Pereira or Aspinall), which would only prove him to be a self-promotion genius.

Such is life in the promotion business.   No press is bad press right?

I don’t think anyone with a modicum of decency actually condoned what Hokit said, particularly given the occasion, but the hyperbolic outrage is disingenuous.

The funny thing about insults and criticisms is the closer they are to the truth, the more defensive and angered the response. If you question a smart person’s intelligence, they shrug it off. You question a dumb person’s intelligence, and they go off the rails.

Hard to ignore the poetic justice of an enthusiastically disingenuous comment being met with hyperbolic outrage.

The funny part of Josh Hokit that he IS blatantly being a "phony," but most people aren't able to figure that out.  Like: the phoniness is the joke. Which you didn't get? He literally has four "personalities" that he switches in and out of, sometimes mid-interview.  I just saw one where he went from the "Incredible Hok" to Josh Hokit in the period of about 5 seconds.

I understand people may not like it, and understand his "joke" was probably not everyone's cup of tea, but he's playing a role and trying to be as cringey as possible and get attention.  It seems to be working.

Well, I meant more that there are a lot of people who would never watch MMA who might tune in hoping to see him get beat up. You know, tolerant people who are calling Hokit (who is Mexican-American) white trash.

I just wanna know the story behind Focus calling off his engagement.  I don't wanna harass the girl for the "why," but getting her perspective on AJ off the mat would be incredible content.
