Interesting view on his season in major hindsight.  Obviously this wt cut has caught up to him.  No excuses but he probably is cutting more than anyone in last 10 years.  it is a tough coaching call see early if he can make it do well.  Or wait until middle of big ten season and try to make cut for 2 moths instead of 5 months?

I give him credit for not going into portal and wrestling 133 or 141 somewhere

Not over for him. Keep your chin up.

He can't hold the wt.  It is obvious.  Slim chance he will be able to get thru 7 minutes tomorrow.

In the last 10 years? I don't know if he's cutting more weight than Strickenberger..

Looks like the early season heater tOSU was one caught up to them, as I predicted.

Actually agree with you.  They won everything early.  Peaked early.  They always wrestle the toughest schedule each year.  Seems like at nationals that is not the right formula to do well.

This is just not true at all. McCrone is funky and capable of beating anybody--but he's a 10 or 12-loss kid over a full OSU schedule because he's so bad on his feet compared to the best guys. You do know he was the starter last year, right? Pinned Lilledahl--but also lost a ton of matches to mid-level guys and didn't come close to being an AA.

He didn’t get beat out, just cuz you lose to your teammate doesn’t mean they’re better, he’s been much better against the field. No luck about it

So maybe peaking in November wasn’t a good idea?? 🤔🤔🤔

And we will next year.  It’s still bad for the sport.

Tom Ryan claimed his Paycom Trophy was a "National Championship" in one interview that I saw.

It was the pinnacle of the Fall season, he has the right to say such, the Fall National Championship ... Carl is shooting for the Spring.  😉

He has the right to say anything, but Paycoms is an Invitational, not a National Championship.

That’s par for the course with TanTom. He also has a few #1 seeds from the cancelled COVID year tourney on their national champs wall. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Not the way we’d do it……

All reasonable humans know this to be fact.   Carl skipping that event is bad for the sport.

Don't invite PSU to it next year and watch them cry about it.

I don't think they care. Better things to do with their time than peak in November and flop in March.

Bouzakis is my favorite Buckeye wrestler. It's been tough watching him at Nationals these last few years. He has overcome so much adversity personally, and made a huge sacrifice to crack the lineup to help the team this year. Really hope he can fight back to finish as an AA.
