He (Tom Ryan) did say he was hurt at NCAA's. I also remember Bouzakis saying in an interview he got really high in wt after big tens. I am really surprised he did not say Nic did what was best for him and the team and wrestled a great season then at tournament wt got high and was banged up. Bouzakis was hammer coming out of high school. Not everyone can translate to college. Then they recruit Davino at his wt class and Davino was better. Interesting their true freshman year. Mendez did a crazy wt cut to 133 and Bouzakis redshirted. But Bouzakis beat Mendez that summer in freestyle to go to U20's.

Mendez looked bad all tournament. Mckenna dominated that match

Actually agree with you. They won everything early. Peaked early. They always wrestle the toughest schedule each year. Seems like at nationals that is not the right formula to do well.

He can't hold the wt. It is obvious. Slim chance he will be able to get thru 7 minutes tomorrow.

Interesting view on his season in major hindsight. Obviously this wt cut has caught up to him. No excuses but he probably is cutting more than anyone in last 10 years. it is a tough coaching call see early if he can make it do well. Or wait until middle of big ten season and try to make cut for 2 moths instead of 5 months? I give him credit for not going into portal and wrestling 133 or 141 somewhere

I think he will give Mendez all he can handle and more. If Mendez comes out and wrestles to takedown and cut to try to get bonus it could backfire big time. Stanich is the real deal. Mendez is wrestling riccardi tonight. Stanich has handled him with ease. Riccardi is tough. 141 is tough. Dekrakker had Vega on ropes. But I guess a lot of wrestlers have this year he always finds a way. Stanich, Vega and Mendez. Ech will not score against Stanich

I am thinking 141 Mendez Ryan Jack All American Vombaur 2X All American Stanich or Ech Vega or Hardy Tough road for #1 seed

141 - is deep. I think Mendez is clear favorite but Vega, Stanich, Echmendia and Hardy can all win that wt. Ech outwrestled Vega for 6 min 50 seconds. If Mendez is on his game he will be really tough. I think a lot of people counting out Ech. Seeding is going to be real interesting. If Mendez and Vega both go undefeated can Vega get the 1 seed?

I don't think Mendez is majoring or tech Ech or Vega. Both just too tough to score on. Stanich for not wrestling a full schedule and really wrestling nobody all year in the top 4 could really benefit. And if Ech beats Vega at big 12's he could be the two with Ech the 3.

If and big if all the top 5 win out and Vega beats Echemendia at big 12 finals. And Mendez beats Hardy How do you seed it? 1. Mendez, 2. Vega 3-5 How does this go? 3. Hardy 4. Ech 5. Stanich or 3 Ech 4. Hardy 5. Stanich or Could Stanich be 3 or 4. Will be interesting to see how they seed those 3

National duals tournament is great! Both look really good early in the year.
