  1. Past hour
  2. America hasn’t killed anyone over there so I’m not sure what that first sentence even means.
  3. Sorry that comment about the world went over your head. The “world” and the UN was on the side of giving the Jewish people a home nation since the Nazis tried to exterminate them. So ya the world was on the same side as me.
  4. Anyone who knows anything about the other "non public" issues "allegedly" going on. (I'm talking multiple things in multiple places throughout the country). can probably tell you about how many times things have been reported. Or they were known and people found ways to explain/justify it. On top of safesport being a joke because (just what I know of) 1. Safesport interviewing multiple former athletes about a coach "behavior". ALL of them saying it happened. Even if it was embarrassing to admit it.. and the dude is apparently still certified and coaching, just laying low. 2. Coaches being suspended by USA wrestling for one flimsy procedural thing so they don't have to admit about the worse thing that "allegedly" happened. Then the coach is reinstated later. 3. Coaches leaving a college because of alleged inappropriate behavior and still being allowed to coach at final x with overwhelming evidence. If you actually start talking to people around the sport. Whether it's PEDs, inappropriate behavior, bullying, weight cutting cheating, transfers, etc. etc. etc... there may or may not be "evidence". Of the metaphorical fire there's a hella lot of smoke. but every time it comes up people want to blow it off. Or devolve like this discussion. My main point. Be glad the hazing is even getting discussed
  5. Did you mean folkstyle? After his exhibition match, Ono said his next goal was to make the U23 team. It makes some sense if he wants to test the waters at a new weight while dabbling a lil bit in folk. It doesn't look like he's registered for next month's Meiji Cup.
  6. the dictionary definition of feckless
  7. No, it is not similar. In one case the request is being made because there is probable cause to think the person is guilty, in the other there is not. No one is randomly administered breathalyzers just because they have a license. Wrestlers are randomly chosen for testing just because they are members of UWW.
  8. Who is acting differently? Is anyone stating that he should not be suspended?
  9. Yes, it is absolutely very similar. It is similar in that with both cases, you refuse to take a drug test. And some people are acting very differently about this than they did when Tsabalov was suspended for the same thing...
  10. Are you sure?
  11. I’m not sure if the powers-that-be read threads in this forum but this is one thread I wish they would. PSU fan here agreeing they should be participating.
  12. My guess is that their level of concern would be minimal, at best, for the same reason a whereabouts violation, particularly for a wrestler who is not active and close to aged out, is nowhere near a similar situation to a refusal to take a breathalyzer.
  13. Crazy how many experts we have on here that know how this stuff works.
  14. Askren, Messenbrink and O'Toole all went to the same HS. Not a major national power but they produce some great individual talent.
  15. He'd even has to go out of his way to find the ad. It's not like he passed a billboard with this ad on it. It's possible it was his first time, but I am sure he's been to places recently where it is way more accessible.
  16. “it’s just good for the sport” I couldn’t agree with you more scourge. Great post.
  17. Politicians, in general, have never been known for their honesty, but this guy takes it to the next level. He literally lies about EVERY single thing that somebody could possibly believe (e.g. he isn't going to claim that the sky is pink but maybe that's next).
  18. You know the answer to that. The point is, a suspension is not a good look. Maybe not someone you want associated with your program. Are you aware that refusal to take a breathalyzer often results in a OUI conviction?
  19. Kennedy wouldn't make the roster unless he changed weight as Penn State has Haines, Henkel and Cunningham. Same with 133/141 Penn State has Davis, Nagao,(All Americans) Blaze (top recruit), Ono (world champ), Perry (getting no money) and Cunningham (Coaches kid). Ayala would but Bailey doesn't bump anyone off the roster. Whomever starts at 157 doesn't make Penn State's top 30. Endenne doesn't make it at 197 either though he might make the roster at heavyweight.
  20. I think this is deceptive, but I am sure a lot of people think it is fine to do this. It is common practice with BJJ instructors. Many will list among their accomplishments "world champ" and omit that it was either at a lower belt level, some masters/youth age division, and/or some off-brand promotion. It is commonly accepted for some reason.
  21. “Former” dad? Was his kid on the team during the recent incident? If not why is he doing interviews? If so, I am no PSU fan but sounds like he’s just in CYA mode. If it’s been an issue for years why wasn’t it reported previously? Edit: and how the heck would a dad that’s not a coach even be involved in hazing?
  22. Or just hope they misspell Mitch's name on the score card and he fails to show.
  23. When I wrestled some of the guys decided to haze and bully the coaches by dipping one coaches whistle in the toilet. A team captain knew about it and did not tell the coach before he used his whistle. Let me tell you that it was not a fun day after practice for the two guys who did it and the captain who knew. They had PIs after practice, and it wasn't pretty.
