  1. Honestly at this point SDSU is in the same tier as Minnesota, Northern Iowa, Missouri, Lehigh, Rutgers, NCST(great dual team but never do well at NCAAs)
  2. She can always be Pro amateur wrestling, Kurt Angle and Chas Betts still are. She has a lot better chance to make $1 million or more the next few years in fake wrestling than real wrestling. She’s aging into her 30s now, not everyone eats, breathes and thinks about wrestling all the time.
  3. Imagine going to your day job and being told, if you are the top person in the world you get 500k this year, if you are 2nd in the world you get 250k this year and if you are 3rd you get 100k. If you are 4th or worse you get enough pay to live in an apartment or rent a room and eat ok. That’s essentially what being an international wrestler is. In this game she has way less pressure, just to perform. She gets paid the same whether she wins or loses. Not really any different than being a figure skater
  4. Jayson Ness went 5,2,3,1 and sadly does not meet the criteria. Similar to Mark Ironside who just misses it. Ness lost to Hazewinkle in the semis and then lost to Escobedo in consi Semi(he never seemed to figure Angel out) and pinned Obe Blanc for 5th. Those pin points were big in the Gophers 3rd title in 7 years.
  5. Coleman Scott has been a proven solid head coach and OkSt did improve last year with him there. Probably the best hire. Molinaro is a good hire as well being from Jersey and Italian, it is probably the right hire demographically.
  6. How? Kyle Snyder moved up to Heavyweight. He didn’t bring a portal guy in
  7. Kolat was not too different as an assistant. He was at Lock Haven, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Lehigh and UNC before going to Campbell. He really never should have left because recruiting will be nearly impossible at a service academy. He had Ryder Rogotzke committed only to bail to Ohio St. His results are not any better than the previous coaches since taking over.
  8. I have always put Kolat in the Sammie Henson category. Great technical coach, really good assistant but probably a micromanager as a head coach. He tends to piss a lot of people off as well. Just like Henson, he seemed to wait forever for his first head job at a not so good school.
  9. Ferraris dad uses Just for Men
  10. Has Kueter gotten bigger? He needs to gain some mass.
  11. Steveson, Snyder, Neal, Haselrig, Konrad
  12. Good example of this was Jacob Lininger about 20 years ago. He was a ncaa qualifier at Hwt for Pitt, he was probably about 30-10, he transfers to 2x defending champs Minnesota and drops to 197 to enter the lineup and replace Owen Elzen after 3rd and 4th place finishes the past 2 years. He was not wrestling well at all, maybe .500 at midseason when Damion Hahn moved up to win his first of 2 titles in a row. I really thought he would get good in the gophers room.
  13. Actually he has to be right up there. This list is 5 years old and we have lost some old timers recently in Tom Borelli, John Smith, Greg Williams, Jim Heffernan, Jim and Lennie Zalesky. Steve Martin. I’m not sure any current head coach is as old as Barry Davis. https://www.trackwrestling.com/PortalPost.jsp?postId=1728706132
  14. I think Salazar will do great at ASU.
  15. Not sure if I can see Davis doing well in this position. After being a head coach for 25 years, it’s gotta be tough taking the back seat. Plus I can’t see him getting on the mat anymore like most assistants do.
  16. I 100% agree, for all the years he was in the lineup, he was a 10-15 ranked guy whether he was at 174 or 184. He wrestled well at NCAAs to AA but who did he best? He beat Peyton Mocco, Edmond Ruth, Alex Faison, Ethan Smith and a sucked down HEW Dustin Plott after 3 days of weigh ins to place 5th. Not one time in his 7 matches did he break one open, the most points he scored was 6 in a match. Now if he was beating these guys 14-5 with multiple takedowns I could see the arguments for him. He just as easily can go 0-2 BBQ with these point totals. Gabe Arnold will dictation who goes where but I think Kennedy beats Brands out for 174, he has way more potential to put points up
  17. Dake is done after this cycle, he will be 37 at next OTT.
  18. Sam Latona not Italian? That’s like a mobster name
  19. Is VTech the new Rutgers with all the Italians on the roster and now adding street cred by a Italian coach too?
  20. He isn’t doing this for NCAA glory. The money has dried up and he need a check. He has a high maintenance IG model GF to take care of
  21. Has he officially retired from competition? Based on the Fix interview and what everyone is posting, it sounds as if he is finished.
  22. Obviously we want Wells at 133, can he make the weight all season and be effective?
  23. I think this just solidity’s Tyler Wells redshirting next season. He just wrestled 65kg at U20. Morvari did pretty well last season, I assume Flynn is going 125 125-Cooper Flynn Jr 133-Brandon Morvari Fr 141-Vance Vombaur-Jr 149-Drew Roberts Jr 157-Tommy Askey Jr 165-Blaine Brenner Jr 174-Clayton Whiting So 184-Max McEnelly Fr 197-Isaiah Salazar Sr Hwt-Bennett Tabor Jr I think next year you bump Wells to 141 and Vombaur to 149. If Wells can make 133 again this will be a top 5 ranked dual team with all 10 qualifying and probably 5 AAs. In 2025-26 if we retain all our talent I think Hopke builds into a real AA contender as a Fr and Millard takes over 165 as a FR
  24. If he follows Nancy Pelosi stock moves, he will have a 50% rate of return
  25. Outside of Cody Caldwell being retained by Damion Hahn at SDSU I can’t remember the last assistant retained from a outside coach coming in.
