  1. Recruiting is the name of the game in todays world. Is Frayer a big time recruiter for VTech? You need a relevant name in todays world
  2. Brandon Eggum was just extended by Minnesota, we just placed the worst I can remember in the last 30 years. We have had down seasons but a down season in the past would include a couple weights not qualifying at nationals and still a few guys in the semis. I wish we could have Damion Hahn as our head coach but for the sake of the sport I hope he coaches at SDSU for 20 more years. He has came into the state of Minnesota and landed Blue Chipper Bennett Berge and got results in 4th at Ncaas, he came in and got Derrick Cardinal and Cael Swenson. SDSU is bringing in Diamond in the rough type recruits that Minnesota used to live off of for years. SDSU is trending upwards and just wrestled very well as a whole at NCAAS.
  3. Honestly Kennedy to SDSU is a prediction that makes a ton of sense. He’s been teammates with both Brady and Bennett Berge at Kasson Mantorville and unless Cael Swenson is moving up, 165 is a hole. SDSU has a great program that hasn’t lost anyone of note since Hahn took over
  4. As a Gopher fan it was a pretty embarrassing year. My wife as a casual fan said “We are in only 22nd place? is the coach gonna get fired?” They are going after guys who are poor program fits. Remember Chittum was committed for a year as well. We haven’t been able to keep guys from outside the region here. Here is what I would do for next year 125-Morvari Fr 133-Wells-So 141-Vombaur-Jr 149-Roberts-Jr 157-Brenner-Jr 165-Millard True Fr 174-Wester True Fr 184-McEnelly Fr 197-Salazar Sr or Nelson Fr Hwt-Hopke True Fr As based on recent history, you get NOTHING from redshirting guys, they just leave anyways. Wrestle your best team every season.
  5. Absolutely, if Reader takes the Central Michigan job I would assume it’s a done deal. Michigan at 174 makes sense. I would actually like to see him go wrestle for his fellow Italian Mike Poeta at 165 for Illinois as well.
  6. This is more like a girl who starts an Instagram. She dates the regular guy from her colleges football team. She gets more and more followers and hits a million. All of a sudden pro athletes fill her DMs and before you know it she thinks she isn’t a 8 anymore and dumps said boyfriend for Rob Gronkowski. A lot of these small school guys won state titles in small classifications or were 3 sport high school athletes. They developed late and blossomed. The dream was never to go to Northern Illinois or NDSU
  7. Fix’s youngest kid graduates high school in 2025
  8. Have any of these 24-26 year old guys improved on past finishes? For Minnesota McKee and Blockhus didn’t deliver, Joles was improved over his past and probably got as much as he could out himself being a top 20 guy. Numerous other guys who came back are falling short as well of past accomplishments. I for one am against redshirting guys just to redshirt them. Use it down the road for injury or weight class change.
  9. The way Salazar looked this morning, I worry he might be looking for the lights in period 2/3 against Rogotzke.
  10. Does Crookham do a lot of shooting from space? That could be your answer right there. Someone like Jordan Burroughs would possibly have a tougher match in this situation
  11. He hasn’t wrestled well at Penn St. He hasn’t been nearly as good on top. Outside of the Bible thumping, it’s been a poor fit so far.
  12. Nagao should have stayed at MN
  13. Volk was rode like a mule
  14. DC is the best, Burroughs is solid but not as entertaining. DC is easily excitable just like Shane Sparks and Rock Harrison.
  15. Fix will 100% wrestle back. Guys I can see defaulting on the backside……… Vito Arujau Real Woods Austin Gomez Carter Starocci Shane Griffith
  16. Troy Letters was another one who was insanely jacked and there was 174 talks more than once. It could have been because his upper body was 184 but lower body was 149 so he looked even bigger
  17. Great question actually. He might have weight issues as well, he’s been at 132/133 for a few years now
  18. Let’s see both ends of the spectrum of guys(Not including Hwts) who cut a ton or we know don’t cut at all. It was well documented years ago Matt Pell AA’d at 184 as a sophomore weighing in at 176 because he couldn’t beat Tyron Woodley at 165 or Ben Askren at 174, then dropped to 165 after Woodley graduated. Examples for cutting would include Matt Ramos, Patrick McKee and Cole Matthews. Some guys not so much might be Dylan Shawver and Dayton Fix. Whos cutting too much and needs to move up?
  19. Look how Pantaleo was at 65, same exact results. Pantaleo is very tough at 70 but too small at 74 and too big for 65
  20. Blockhus got a good draw considering his seed
  21. Salazar has to love his bracket placement. He is hoping Rogotzke loses round 1. Outside of that land mine, I think he does well
  22. A good bracket placement is 20 seed Tyler Wells. He beat his first round opponent Kurt Phipps the first time 7-2. If he were to win against he would possibly face Dylan Shawver who he also beat in the dual. He hasn’t gotten smoked by anyone as of yet. He wrestles way too tight so far in college but could be a bracket buster.
  23. If Minnesota has Salazar and McKee AA I will be happy. Not convinced that Blockhus can give it a real go. If he can, I foresee the possibility of 3 AAs with Joles winning 2-3 matches and about 5 wins from everyone else. If we can finish top 10 that’s a amazing finish for this team
  24. Minnesota got all 10 in with 3 at larges and stole some spots at Big Tens
