  1. Outside of the guys who already have who else would be eligible? Could Spencer Lee compete for France? AJ Ferrari, Austin DeSanto and Nick Suriano for Italy like Realbuto?
  2. What racial mix is Bartlett? I’ve always been curious is he 1/4 black, Hispanic?
  3. Thing is everyone is remember his Covid year and redo sophomore years in 2021 and 2022. He got 6th at big tens last year and lost rd of 16 to Dean Peterson last year. I am like most MN fans, we want to see it but it’s doubtful we do again.
  4. This is the oldest that any McKee has been in college. Mitchell never redshirted and was appearing to have HEW at age 22. Patrick started to show similar at age 22-23 last season and has not wrestled well this year. I would of rather seen him at 133 this season.
  5. McKee won’t win 5 matches in a row without having a sloppy match. Won’t happen
  6. Agree 1000%, he will be yet another year 6 guy who is sick of the weight cut and long term effects on his body with the style he wrestles. I wish we had Spratley to be honest as they will have similar NCAA results finishing short of AA status. McKee has struggled on bottom the last year.
  7. Hopke lost his first high school matches at the MN Xmas tourney to Schunke
  8. Tom Brands was pinned by Alan Fried at Midlands and Joey Gilbert in the B1G finals
  9. He got pinned by a Italian guy from Oregon as well
  10. He was what the 26 seed at NCAAs? He wasn’t even in the lineup half the season. This is probably closer to who he really is than a top 5 guy. He beat over seeded Stevo Poulin, Patrick McKee (who sucks front side), Eric Barnett(similar to McKee, better backside and funky) and Killian Cardinale. Great draw, he’s good against funky guys
  11. Ricardo Alcala, Matt Powless, Adam Chalfant, Taylor Walsh were all bigger guys who AA’d late in the Goldman era. They always had good 197-285 guys. The problem Indiana has always sucked for the most part in the 141-184 range.
  12. Just my 2 cents here but IMO Salazar hits the transfer portal after this season. I bet McEnelly is in his league currently. I do think he’s better than Gavin Nelson though, who I think is better than Tabor. I would like to see 184 McEnelly 197 Salazar and Hwt Nelson next year. Otherwise I see Salazar going home to Northern Colorado
  13. Pritzlaff was at Wisconsin the same time as Mac as an athlete. I doubt they haven’t crossed paths
  14. Wrestle Kennedy at 184. This obsession with redshirting guys right away is dumb. He can do well now, wrestle him, he can redshirt later if he gets hurt. Guys are proving to do worse with age. Minnesota wrestled 157 pounder Matt Nagle at 184 in 2003, then he dropped to 157 the next year. Matt Pell AA’d at 184, to drop to 165 the next 2 seasons. I think Kennedy can be rd of 12-16 at 184.
  15. Smith and Bono are both Italian. Smith’s mother is Italian, Bono is an Italian name. Bono would fit in well at Rutgers
  16. There are not many minority head coaches in D1 right now outside of Bono, John Smith and Kenny Monday in D1 right now. Can’t think of others off the top of my head. Would be a bad thing losing another
  17. Your best guys take the weights they want. Everyone else fills in, example is Hoffman at Ohio St
  18. Wisconsin is not good at all. Used car salesman Chris Bono needs to find a new lot. Way underachieving right now
  19. Not really, he’s overrated to begin with. He beat Stevo Poulin and McKee on the front side and we know how McKee does front side. Beat sucked down Barnett and Cardinale on the back side. He ran into a lot of old dudes who cut a ton of weight at NCAAs.
  20. Jacob Meissner was a very underrated wrestler in Minnesota. Won 2 titles as a 200 lb 220. His positioning was always so sound. He wrestled for a non traditional power team so his upside should be good
  21. VTech is alot like Missouri. Top notch dual teams basically every year but lack to top firepower to place high at NCAAs with a lot of guys who are 3-R12 type guys vs finals points
  22. Sounds like my theories are correct
  23. People got off these guys trains a lot earlier. If JO enters at 70kg, there will be posters on here saying he can or will beat Zain. He’s old AF now, mid 30s
  24. The most over hyped and overrated guy we have ever had was Jordan Oliver. Every year something would happen. Suspensions, weight issues and excuses why he would lose close matches. Then every year come trails everyone is picking JO
  25. What big guys well? They have no other hwts in the room, he didn’t wrestle a match last year and was 7-7 2 years ago. He was a good recruit but a lot of Simley guys have came in as close to finished products with less upside because Short is a amazing coach
