Well….you would have to combine reading the judges ruling with an understanding of rules and procedures of grand jury testimony…then it may sound a little different.

Judges do weird things like follow judicial processes, rules, and procedures.

That’s his point, there’s nothing in there that isn’t already public, which is complete opposite of why the DOJ was asking for its release.

DOJ is smacked down in their sideshow relating to the request for Maxwell’s grand jury documents. The judge writes in his ruling: “A member of the public, appreciating that the Maxwell grand jury materials do not contribute anything to public knowledge, might conclude that the government’s motion for their unsealing was aimed not at ‘transparency’ but at diversion – aimed not at full disclosure but at the illusion of such,” he wrote. “Contrary to the government’s depiction, the Maxwell grand jury testimony is not a matter of significant historical or public interest,” he added. “Far from it. It consists of garden-variety summary testimony by two law enforcement agents.” Must be one of those activist judges I keep hearing about.

The point of my post you quoted........the social media knucklehead that was cited earlier in the thread is not at all for real, the WNBA is not considering playing games without allowing spectators.

Well the good news is, and not that we should expect anyone around here to take a couple minutes to look into the truth of a claim on social media before posting it here as if it’s actually happening, but absolutely no one but social media knuckleheads is making any such claim that the WNBA is considering playing in empty arenas. Everyone can rest easy, it’s not real.

What’s even more funny is not realizing ticket sales is much more than the revenue from tickets. If there is no one in the stands, there is no beer being sold, I nachos being sold, no pretzels, sodas, waters, or hot dogs being sold. There’s not jerseys being sold, not hats, no tshirts, no hoodies. Another thing that is funny is comparing a fan throwing a dildo on the floor to large scale fights and riots being caused by hundreds of fans The funny list goes on and on….

Did you quote the correct person? I mentioned nothing of deportations. I was strictly talking about whatabouting. Not sure if you noticed your response was a completely different subject matter than what you quoted.

The whole thing with whatabouts is an inability to hold one’s own accountable. It’s much easier on the psyche to point out someone else doing wrong than to acknowledge my guy/person/group is doing wrong. We saw it in the last administration and ‘what about’ for Biden back to Trump, just like we are seeing it now with Biden and Obama. Two sides of the same coin. It’s a lot like the parent that comes in to meet the principal because their kid f***ed up. Instead of taking the steps and strategy to ensure their kid won’t make the same mistake again, it’s easier to find other kids who have done it. The problem with all these whatabouts is they won’t promote any growth or improvement in behaviors. It’s enabling. And that’s the number one political strategy these days, deflect what my party is doing wrong and look got and scream and yell what the other party is doing wrong (even if my party is doing the same d**n thing). And unfortunately many of we the people fall for it hook line and singer and flock around like parrots

This is a good piece on the situtaion. Doesn't look like he would be doing any raids or anything needing any kind of high level experience. Well, this subject sure has triggered some some folks. At this point I say who cares, all kinds of folk get into law enforcement. Educated non educated. He’ll be following orders (or publicity stuff) not setting policy. His degree in history with emphasis in development in motion pictures is pretty much irrelevant. The list of people subpoenaed by the committee certainly comes with some surprises. Not so much for who was subpoenaed, but for who was not. A lot of people on the list of why weren’t they subpoenaed, but the top two that really stand out to me: Alex Acosta and Maureen Comey. How the heol can you leave those two off the list?

I understand. I don’t know if going “viral” = popular, and not trying to be argumentative just trying to see how ‘popular’ it is. Just seems like a silly thing for people to get in a tizzy about. Person A: I don’t think women should be in office. There are some really good women in office, some really good congresswomen, but I think women should run the home. Person B: I’m looking for people to go out and kill ICE (law enforcement) agents. Both asinine comments, but there are levels to things…why is there any debate whatsoever on the difference in level of asinine between these two comments. No matter how many f***ing tiktokers each of them has? Trying to justify A is worse than B because of tik tok ot tweeter or whatever is just plain stupid.
