When he added the "wink, wink" comment it was more than just a general statement. -
Meyer Shapiro Steroids Accusation
Dogbone replied to Indiana-Hawk-Wrestling-Fan's topic in College Wrestling
The one who protests too much, methinks... I don't think Nolf is helping as much as he is probably trying. There is no way he or anyone can say with certainly that no one at any school is not taking a PED. I still don't think there is much substance to this baseless allegation but Nolf's comment is starting to make me more suspicious. If someone made a baseless claim about AJ, would he still be out here saying no one at all is doing it???? -
Hopefully Gable finds what he is looking for in life. I would think he could make a decent amount from an RTC and gain endorsements, but he seems to want something else. It's tough to get great at something if you don't stick with it. I am glad he came back for another year of wrestling but I don't think it made him a better football player.

Meyer Shapiro Steroids Accusation
Dogbone replied to Indiana-Hawk-Wrestling-Fan's topic in College Wrestling
The fact that Fix was popped by WADA and not the NCAA suggest the NCAA testing is weaker/easier to beat. Valencia was also busted by WADA and not NCAA (allegedly a street drug not a PED), Brooks's positive was also in WADA but permitted because of his prescription. Lance Armstrong never was popped either. That sport was notorious for doping but rarely had guys get popped. Now, I don't think that means a lot wrestlers, including Kasak are doing roids. It just suggest that the WADA testing is more strict than the NCAA, nothing more. Unfortunately for Kasak, whether he has ever touched a drug of any kind will never be settled on a message board but it will hang out there. I watched the whole 13+ min interview and found Meyer to be very candid about his seizures, hospitalization, weight, training leading up Ivys. Its too bad he made the comment about Roids and that is all anyone is talking about. -
Nebraska Wins The Title That Really Matters
Dogbone replied to Wrestleknownothing's topic in College Wrestling
It doesn't help VT that Henson made the finals with no bonuses and then lost a close one. I wouldn't say underachieved. Interesting fact to me at least: Caleb Henson made the finals and lost 1-0. He scored less team points than 7 of the PSU wrestlers. All but three of the 3rd place finishers (Bassett, Ramos, and AJ) scored more points than Henson. -
My random thoughts about Ono Ono will be 22 at next years NCAA Championships PSU won't need his team points to win NCAAs next year. He only adds about 5-10 more points to their total than if Davis or Nagao go. So this move allows Davis to redshirt, which doesn't seem necessary, but may help him get a title in his RS Sr year. If Ono wants to wrestle for you, I don't know how you turn it down.

Watching live, I thought it was close but when Ridge popped his hips off the mat, I thought it was within reaction time and not a TD. At the end of the day. Ridge and Henson will always be a coinflip match, they wrestled 4 times and are 2-2 with each getting a Title with the other in the bracket. Feels right to me.

1) Session 4 (semis/Blood round) 2) Session 3 (Quarters) 3) Session 6 (Finals) 4) Session 2 5) Session 5 (medal matches) - underrated 6) Session 1 - Was better when they only seeded 12 To me session 2 and 5 are very close. Actually it probably depends if you had a few drinks, which I always do, session 2 is more fun, but if you are not too hungover, session 5 is great wrestling.

It appears some states have individuals and some states don't. Individuals are still up for me.

What are we supposed to think about Tom Ryan?
Dogbone replied to Fletcher's topic in College Wrestling
^^^ This^^^^. We need to be more lenient on what happens between the lines so to speak. You can be a savage on the mat but still a nice guy. Even T&T can be maniacs when competing but it doesn't mean they are bad people. Look at Ray Lewis, he would kill a wide receiver coming across the middle, but off the field.... Okay bad example. -
Steveson first 4X Big Ten HWT champion in history?
Dogbone replied to headshuck's topic in College Wrestling
I am the minority that I just don't care about these new "records" like 4x and 5x champs when they are the only ones who got 5 tries? I just think there would be a whole lot more 4x champs if everyone was given 5 tries. Same for CStar being the only 5x champ. Its very cool for him to say, but if Cael was given a 5th year I am pretty sure he would of been a 5x champ as well. Its more of matter of timing of when you competed. -
I do agree with you, but my guess is the logic is that this is as much the Pac 12's fault as anyones, including the other Pac 12 teams fault for not catching it. I mean he did compete in 5 pac 12 championship and not the 2021 pac 12s. So the NCAA is saying, the Pac 12 sent us an illegible athlete so we go the alternative and not give the Pac 12 another chance.

Imagine if Rock Harrison and Shane Sparks commentated together. Then you would see some excitement.

Who's the oldest wrestler in the tournament?
Dogbone replied to Maxwell Smart's topic in College Wrestling
Byrd is listed as a junior. Gavin Hoffman has used a free year and a medical year (legit, no Tyler Brennan) and graduated high school before Byrd. Gable graduated the same year as Hoffman and used a free year plus Oly year. -
Keck should not have done the all-star classic
Dogbone replied to Fletcher's topic in College Wrestling
Imagine telling an NCAA champ, "Don't wrestle because we are worried you might lose and then the path to the finals will be harder" -
The only person getting screwed is the Pac 12 runner up and OSU if they are not given the Pac 12 title. Little Rock misapplied the rule, shame on them, but it was a mistake. Nobody knew who Brennan was, but now they do. He isn't going to AA anyway and by ruling him out, he can claim to be a qualifier who "could of won it" if it weren't for those pesky rules.

I have only responded in regard to this comment ^^^ and pointed out that the half was in before Van Dee head hit the mat. I never complained about the refs call. Sorry to get you all worked up on message board. I thought we were just discussing a questionable call, pretty common stuff.
-
Okay I think @Elevator has paid for his sins of calling Vombaur boring. Back on topic Here are the matches I would like to see most: Van Ness v. Henson Vombaur v. Beau Kasak v. Shapiro DT coached Hamiti v. Haines NOT Plott v. Keck. A.J. vs. top 3 in the B1G.
-
False again. My comment had nothing to do with the photo that I didn't see before I posted. Go watch the video on normal speed. He picks him up (no half) and then slides it in on the way down. He has the half in before Van Dee lands on his head. It was reviewed and determined to be legal, so while I disagree I can understand a different opinion. But I can't understand why you need to deny facts like the half being in before they landed.
