  1. “The EV subsidy is so poor at cutting CO2 emissions, it is like paying $2,072 for a latte.” https://thepostmillennial.com/washington-states-ev-rebate-program-a-failure-study?cfp What a bunch of multi-tasking overachievers. Being expensive AND worthless at the same time.
  2. Trump Caves . . . I am hoping to read this thread lead by RV many many times. Every cave so far this week has been associated with good news and seems to be meeting a stated goal. I hope to see this one soon, "Trump Caves - disbands DOGE due to lack of anything for DOGE to do."
  3. Concur - it was an interesting read. I've seen the same / similar concept in The Infinite Game. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Infinite_Game
  4. Hitler wasn’t half the Nazi that Musk is. Hitler was a purely amateur nazi using improper salute angles and believing only a small subset of whites are remarkable.
  5. Another option is to give less of our own money and very limited power to use it to politicians. Kind of like the constitution says. The way to get the money out of politics is to stop the red money from going into Washington. And a balanced budget amendment. Then lobbyists and corporate money would flee DC lickety split..
  6. As an asylum seeking member of the international gang (not nice to call gangs illegal, remember, nor alien. It is probably not very woke even to call them international as that is very "othering" to do) your ability to avoid capture by telling sanctuary city personnel of your "status" is greatly enhanced. Actually, they assist your avoidance of capture.
  7. I think BH stumbled onto a solution. The problem is the demand is in the U.S. Let us co-locate demand with the supply. Caught with a drug smuggled into the US? Deport the individual to the country of origin of the drug. Don't incarcerate. Outcarcerate. Consider this humanitarian - you know, like needle exchanges. Another solution - charge the country of origin with the cost of the DEA and other agencies, support, doctors, etc. for the costs to our society of drugs originating in their country. It will probably be cheaper for them to control their own countrymen and (ex)ports than to pay for the damage caused by the "supply' from their country.
  8. Only if you see the assassination. One of our colleagues with legal expertise made the observation that a crime is not a crime unless you see it.
  9. And they are really yuge chromosomes.
  10. Are rhetorical questions meant to be answered?
  11. Hmmm, the facts don't seem to line up . . . What could be the mistake . . . I know!! These are toy guns and pretend ammo for all of the children. The Asylum Seekers, who are better citizens than real Americans, are simply playing Santa Claus for their new hosts!! What a bunch of saints! Or . . . maybe they aren't seeking asylum but are actually criminals?!? Nope. Not possible. Illegal aliens do not commit crimes so do not believe your lying eyes, thank these saints for blessing us with their presence, and let them carry on asyluming. Now focus all law enforcement pursuits, raids, indictments, convictions, incarcerations, solitary confinement, and other justice on grandmothers walking between velvet ropes at the invitation of Capitol police officers over 4 years ago.
  12. Hendricks was so factually stuck that even 51 former intelligence experts could not concoct a counter-Russian Hoax conspiracy.
  13. Dems will vote against it if it leads to calling an illegal alien anything other “honored guest blessing us by removing another racist American “.
  14. Trump made him do it as part of a Russian conspiracy hoax. Natch. And 51 intelligence experts will sign a letter saying so if Biden asks them to.
  15. Rich Boy Toy. Fun to have the option to spend your money on if you win the lottery or sell your App for millions of dollars or can hit a 95 mph fastball. Like a Rolex or a yacht or a trophy wife - mostly useless for society as a whole.
  16. Well, are EV sales soaring (see my post above on Rolls Royce) or plummeting? The Automotive News does not seem to be able to make up its mind. The self-induced manmade disaster of the EU economy over energy and automotive propulsion laws is leading to quite a bit of human misery. Elections matter. Start deciding better, EU. https://www.autonews.com/manufacturing/suppliers/ane-record-supplier-job-cuts-clepa/?utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Newsletter-ANEDaily-20250117 The link is probably firewalled but maybe someone can get in to the article.
  17. Simple, the same way the Nazis and the Japanese Imperialists were defeated politically. Via very nicely written Thank You notes written on linen paper and delivered by doves.
  18. I know this is an editorial cartoon that is supposed to be funny and it is a little bit funny on the level of "no real progress has been made yet". However, I was really struck by the term "hostage swap". There is no possible way that the Palestinians incarcerated in Israel for criminal acts can be considered as "detained equally unreasonably and deserving of release" on par with the hostages taken by Hamas on Oct 7th. This is no way equivalent to a prisoner of war exchange and the press should not treat it as such.
  19. And fewer grandmothers.
  20. We need only 3 or 4 years. Just ask Al Gore and Greta Thuneberg.
  21. Government competence restored!! Newsom solves the problem! Just like he and all the California politicians and CARB (California Air Resources Board) solved global warming via mandate: https://babylonbee.com/news/problem-solved-newsom-announces-plan-to-make-fire-illegal
  22. I accept your feedback and acknowledge the frustration these habits of mine might cause. Many of the headlines are from a trade periodical called Automotive News - written by a bunch of journalists who have trouble with how conservative the sports media, college administrators, and DNC have become - which is a subscription only service. I actually don't get many of the full articles myself but I keep the email notifications coming to see the headlines. Sometimes I do contact others I know who have company subscriptions to get access to the body of the articles. When I refer to articles that are available to all I will be much more mindful to include links as a common courtesy. Here is the next link I was going to send to emphasize my EVs are RIch Boy Toys theme: https://www.autonews.com/bmw/rolls-royce/ane-rolls-royce-ev-expansion/?utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Newsletter-ANEDontMiss-20250109
  23. Tesla learned to play the climate hoax game the best. Can't make money on cars but can certainly make money on credits made up by pencil neck geek bureaucrats that have zero impact (rounded to the 10th digit beyond the decimal) on anything to do with real physics. On this side of the ocean the climate hoax game is getting tougher for the hoaxsters. Remove the subsidies/credits/mandates/etc. and let the electric cars find their niche in the rich boy toy universe where they belong.
