Last sentence is gold. "At publishing time, sources indicated that zero people so far had been arrested for the Russia collusion." https://babylonbee.com/news/investigation-concludes-trump-is-the-only-one-who-didnt-collude-with-russia That last sentence is, of course, parody because many people have been arrested and their lives ruined over this hoax. The "funny" part is they were innocent.

The 3-Point Takedown: Friend or Foe?
Lipdrag replied to Wrestleknownothing's topic in College Wrestling
i am surprised anyone is surprised at this consequence. It was blindingly obvious that raising the cost of giving up a counter take down would lower the risky activity of taking shots and also over-rewarding the first take down would lead to 3rd period stallfests. Don't people who know wrestling, wrestlers, and the mind-set of those at the top of the sport make the rules and also comment on these pages? -
Why did CNN use He pronouns? KBJ’s biologist had not confirmed it yet. Any responsible journalist would have thrown possibly in there also. Or the very useful “ may or may not” which covers 100%of all possibilities in every single instance.

What's this about Trump caving on tariffs?
Lipdrag replied to mspart's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
WAIT!!??!! Did tariffs lower trade barriers? HOW is that possible? Did negotiating for fair trade and doing so from a position of strength result in FREER trade for American companies? Don't we have 51 former intelligence honchos or 17 intelligence agencies or 13 Nobel Prize economists who can tell us this is not possible or 23 others who can say Kamala Harris' plan (which she could not articulate) was better for the economy? https://jobsanger.blogspot.com/2020/09/nobel-prize-economists-say-biden-better.html https://www.binance.com/en/square/post/15302291556025 https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-tariffs-economists-academics-trade-policy-letter-2025-4 Maybe economists should write fewer letters and try to found, create, and operate more businesses to learn how the economy works. -
Hunter Biden for President. What could possibly go wrong?
Lipdrag replied to Paul158's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
If Hunter joined Hamas. -
So, did each port cost $20,000,000 dollars (20 MILLION!!) to build? Or are there several billion dollars still unspent which can be returned, recissioned, repudiated, or "unspent" by whatever means necessary? Goal: 500,000 charging ports by 2030. Interpolated number to date should have been around 175,000. Biden/Buttigieg performance 384. Yet judges are saying that this administration must continue to fund the hoax. https://freebeacon.com/latest-news/biden-admins-7-5-billion-ev-initiative-built-fewer-than-400-charging-ports-in-3-years-watchdog-says/

What Will Tomorrow's "Data" Distraction Dump Be?
Lipdrag replied to Wrestleknownothing's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
Brilliant. PSU Trumpian Lions. And their wrestling headgear should have Trump hair also! And rename the pinfall the Trumpfall when PSU gets one. "Barr wins by a Trump." "Mesenbrinnk gets another technical Trump". -
Maybe the criminals are getting better. Or the defense lawyers. Or the jury pool in a city like NY does not care if criminals steal from them, beat them, rape them, kill them, etc. Maybe Bragg simply needs to go to trial against more straight white males from the other side of the political spectrum. We know for a fact that Bragg is creative in creating new interpretations of the law and new ways to prosecute cases in front of the right judge and jury. Heck, he does not even need to articulate a crime nor a victim to get 37 felony convictions in New York.

What Will Tomorrow's "Data" Distraction Dump Be?

Trumpian Lions. Can we get a better graphic artist than I to put Trump Hair on the Lion profile? -
We have found the problem. T'weep and others believe that crime is not a big deal. How much "little deal" crime becomes a burden on the citizens nearby? Every attempt to put structure on this question is highly successful (3 strikes laws, sentencing minimums, etc.) and then ended as soon as the success of it is noticeable and quantified. Note that T'weeps' team also is very specific about who is doing "no big deal" stuff. Grandmothers from Kansas taking selfies between velvet ropes must be bankrupted and jailed to the max extent of the law. Illegal aliens doing 8 more illegal things . . . Meh, not a big deal.

THE SOLUTION. The Washington Orangeskins!! I love it. The other solution is to keep the Redskins name but change the logo to a potato. With feathers, of course.

17 of the "intelligence" agencies wrote what they were told to write. Even the 14 of them that DNI Clapper declared were not part of the hoax. Are those other 14 agencies just FOMO Hoaxers? Freelance Hoaxers? Just hoaxing on rumors of made up fakes elsewhere or only when told directly to fake information? Hoax Ninjas all up in those "intelligence" agencies!!

Angel Reese - wnba pay me what I’m worth?

Is there a biologist in the house? We need a ruling that our resident Black Female Supreme Court Justice is unable to determine. -
Angel Reese - wnba pay me what I’m worth?
Lipdrag replied to Caveira's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
Let's pay WNBA players the same money as any man with those same skills. In other words, they would pay to play in a Tuesday night church league while working a real job. The world cup soccer chicks complained about their paychecks also. They sued because they were paid according to a different formula from the men's team. Forgetting, conveniently, that they had the option to be paid by the exact same formula the men were paid and voted against it! I think they were suing over the fact that no man interceded and made them vote in their best interest rather than with their feelings. Interestingly, both the men's team and the women's team would have been better compensated if they had taken the others' pay scheme. Of course, none of this has anything to do with absolute talent and skill levels. We all know 15 year old boys will beat the women's national soccer team. So paying the ladies the same that we pay 15 year olds to play soccer seems to be just mean and curmudgeonly. -
Then embrace your unsettled feeling as your contribution and worth it for your principles. The issues seem to be bigger than anyone's unsettled feelings in your estimation. So, be fully principled and do not blame those applying the law for those feelings you should be welcoming as the struggle against the economic (and social and governmental, etc) situations in the home countries of these refugees.

The only reason you could get swept up is because there are illegal aliens here. No illegal aliens then no danger of being swept up in an operation to remove illegal aliens. Let's take the concept to another domain: Stores in high crime areas must lock up their products and inconvenience honest people. It is unsettling to both the store employees and non-criminal shoppers. Is the store owner to blame? No. All of the inconvenience and unsettling feelings are due solely to the criminals and those who enabled the criminals.

I think Slotkin is recognizing Trump's modification and application of the Teddy Roosevelt maxim to "Speak softly and carry a big stick." Trump's Corollary: "Speak quickly then apply the big stick when the other side has trouble hearing." We are seeing it in trade policy also. It is too bad that he never did learn how to speak softly. https://www.breitbart.com/clips/2025/07/19/slotkin-people-doubted-u-s-but-trump-sent-a-signal-we-will-act-with-iran-strikes/

Recissions package passed and should be signed by Trump
Lipdrag replied to mspart's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
Interesting take. Of course you are right that traditionally the term pork applied to the old Robert Byrd model of bringing federal money back to the district or state to serve a purely local interest. I expanded the term to beyond a geographical constituency to an ideological constituency - applying the concept of pork barrel to an expenditure serving only one side of the political spectrum. Cancelling the programs is no more base pandering than funding the programs. Your last statement shows we are in agreement about this being analogous the the Broken Windows Policing theory. The message (i.e. marketing) is the value. -
Several points of discussion here: 1 - It is still against the law - just like speeding is against the law. 2 - Current documents implies proper documents were in place at one time. So, let's stipulate that lapsed documents is not a crime. However, just like speeding this violation comes with penalties. Additionally, the penalties escalate with the severity of the circumstances. You can lose your privilege to drive and be jailed for speeding so egregiously that you endanger life and limb of others. For legal (at one time) aliens the penalty can range from "fix it in 2 weeks" to deportation with no option to return. 3 - Driving without a license or on a suspended license is a crime. If proper immigration and residence papers were never obtained then we are dealing with criminals, not civil violators. 4 - Another apt analogy to the traffic comparison: Traffic check points for seat belts or DUI. People who are stone cold sober and wearing their seat belts get "swept up". Then they are quickly released when they are not the target of the enforcement action. Source: living in America

I agree they are piddly in terms of deficit reduction. But I also am a subscriber to the broken windows theory of policing. And making your bed every morning. These piddly cuts are the pork barrel budgeting analogy to fixing windows, clearing graffiti, and nipping it in the bud. Small things matter for what they indicate about character, resolve, dependability. Watch those last 3 words trigger some of our brethren! 3 . . . 2. . . . 1 . . . -
I understand this sentiment but I do hold my nose and vote. I helped Clinton get elected by voting against Bush via casting my ballot for Perot. Perot was far from perfect but Bush had forfeited any shot at re-election via betrayal and craven spinelessness. And Clinton was, well, you know, too slick to be let out of Little Rock..

Yes. He totally screwed the pooch on Covid (Warp Speed, Navy Hospital ships to NYC, not getting rid of Fauci on the first mask reversal, allowing shut downs to be EVEN PROPOSED!!!), being soft on illegal aliens while focusing on the visual of a wall, not draining the swamp, exploding government spending, firing Flynn rather than the top 1000 FBI and CIA political operatives, and many other things. He was OK on tax policy (although SALT deduction should be zero), foreign policy, energy policy, getting out of silly international agreements. The question is why couldn't the Republicans nor the Democrats come up with something more appealing to the American people? When asked by European work colleagues in 2016 who I was going to vote for - it is strange how interested in American politics they are and how they feel it is not to personal a question to ask someone - I would answer thus: "I have stated before that I will vote for a steaming pile of dog feces before voting for Hilary Clinton. And this year I have the opportunity to prove it." I supported other candidates in the contested primaries of 2016 and 2024. Yet the democrats leave me only the option of proving dog feces is preferable to their candidate over and over again. Where is the modern day Sam Nunn, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, etc?
