  1. Without a freeze on the debt limit and a Balanced Budget Mandate (with an exception for world war III and nothing else) then we all engaged in a discussion less useful than counting how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. However, the DOGE will go a long way to restoring confidence in the credibility of our government, institutions, and swampies. That is a very important first step because right now the government/financial/media complex is at an all time low in terms of the esteem the public has for it. DOGE can be a crucial demonstration of resolve - and a sort of restitution - before the really big next steps required to get our interest payments back to the equivalent of federal pocket change. Right now interest is number two - above Defense and Medicare - in what our tax money pays:
  2. Yeah, I deserve that. I was just too lazy to look it up. I can see Palmer in my mind's eye but could not come up with his name. Before I came up with Gillespie's name I wrote "that kid from the east coast with a G name". I carry photo ID not to vote or buy hooch but to keep as a reference whenever I forget my own name.
  3. From this link posted above: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7575229/#:~:text=This period has started in,in the decade 2031–2043. "This global cooling during the upcoming grand solar minimum 1 (2020–2053) can offset for three decades any signs of global warming and would require inter-government efforts to tackle problems with heat and food supplies for the whole population of the Earth." No, no, no. A thousand times, NO! Governments should apply absolutely zero efforts whatsoever toward heat and food. Governments should use the temporary authority granted to them by the citizens to focus solely upon ensuring truths that are self-evident. The only valid job of any government is to secure for us and our posterity our inalienable rights (life, liberty, pursuit of happiness, among others) granted by our creator - or by some weird randomness of electrons bumping into each other as arranged by our (don't say creator). A court system to resolve conflicts so we don't have to individually exact revenge, roads/infrastructure, mutual defense - and almost nothing else should be provided - communially. Food and heat are up to us.
  4. Ooh, a new outlet for WKN's talents. Wasteknownothing. Does not even need a new monogram. WKN could really create some Government Efficiency with his incredible analyses. Get out the swampie cutting knife!! Maybe we can somehow learn to live without 18 intelligence agencies and 80 welfare programs.
  5. Here's an idea: all of those IRS agents hired by Biden in one of his bloat bills should be deputized to Vivek and Musk. They should start going after swampie bureacrats like they go after citizens right now. Freeze all the assets of the agency in question until they can account for every penny spent over the past 7 years. They get to spend no other money until everything is cleared up. If they are not able to clear it up then they get to go to jail for tax fraud. In this case not the fraud of underpaying taxes but the fraud of not using taxes properly. Let's dust off the logic of the case against Al Capone: you live like a rich man therefore you must have income yet you paid no taxes. GO TO JAIL. For the swampies: we gave you untold billions yet you have nothing to show for it therefore you must have stolen it or wasted it negligently. Criminally negligently. GO TO JAIL.
  6. It is just crazy how easy it is to lose track of other people's money. How many of these World bank bureacrats are going to jail until they find the money? Zero, zip, nada. These people have authority with no accountability. Lose a billion dollars or two - get a face tattoo from Bruno while he's prettying you up to be his new cell-wife. That might focus some World Bank Bureaucrat attention!
  7. Are you saying it is a crime to say there was no crime?
  8. I heard this same statement almost word for word 4 years ago. Simply put the narrator on the other side of the political divide, take out one name and put in the other, and there you go. Were you careful with your wishes and have things turned out how you thought? "One side hates the other's existence." This part is telling. You did not say both sides hate the other's existence. I agree with you that one side hates the other. And that the hate is not returned. There is a meme that dems think repubs (and indies who don't vote for them) are evil while repubs think dems are unwise. I find this article pretty level-headed in describing the phenomenon. The article is a bit long. https://igeek.mywikis.wiki/wiki/Dumb_Democrats_and_Evil_Republicans That was before the past 8 years when dems started breaking all rules, laws (yes, laws), and using the federal government to politically target Americans (from Lois Lerner at the IRS through the latest outrages by the DOJ). So, people who vote for democrat politicians are not actively thinking about the weaponization of the state and federal bureacracies against political opponents but the democratic operatives - elected, appointed, and part of the existing bureacracy - think and act on it. This article is shorter. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/opinion-democrats-and-democratic-norms/ar-AA1p8F1A
  9. Nice Office Space movie speak drop. Timely and well delivered.
  10. Clarifying question: Did they have to beat the other champ after the other had been the champ? Or does beating someone who already was or eventually became champ count? Technically, only the first circumstance is "to beat an NCAA champ". Or, maybe we should just do both categories!! Wrestling nerds, untie!
  11. Agree. Metcalf beat quite a few. Especially those who graduated after he did who eventually won at 157 or 165 I think. Going only with my faulty memory: Schlatter, Caldwell, Burroughs? Jenkins? Gillespie? Did the tOSU guy ever win NCAA?
  12. I think we agree. Bad soldiers following illegal orders. Jail them.
  13. And anyone who followed those orders should be fired also. Summarily. It is illegal to follow unlawful orders.
  14. More bad math. Updated prediction 4 days later. Only 3.5 million votes have been counted. 6.2 million still to count (?!?). Projected total is reduced by 200k votes. Harris Trump Current Counted Vote (Mn) 72.4 75.6 Uncounted Vote (Mn) 3.4 2.8 Total Votes at 100% (Mn) 75.8 78.4
  15. Whoa!! A new syndrome. And, admittedly, a nice clever recycle and turnabout of the DS acronym. Shall we dub it TDS2 or TD2S2? Or TDSS (Trump Derangement Syndrome squared)? Maybe its original form is best - TDSDS. But don't we already have a term for that? American.
  16. Some swampies need to go to jail. And high level swampies. Let's start with Lois Lerner. Then go with the FISA Court liars at the FBI. And some of these DHS/FEMA a**wipes. Sit them next to any January 6ers who are incarcerated and let the fun begin.
  17. https://babylonbee.com/news/the-babylon-bee-is-graciously-offering-to-hire-any-laid-off-employee-from-fake-news-rival-cnn Self-deprecation at its best!
  18. I like the idea that the majority has to allow the minority to make their argument but I wish the filibuster was actually used for floor debates - televised ones. Just to say the word "filibuster" and then require 60 votes for cloture so that you can get to an actual vote on the merits of the bill is not a very satisfactory system. Maybe anyone who declares a filibuster should be required to accompany it with proposed amendments or rescission of certain parts of the bill in question. So, I must say I do not have a specific answer on how to make the filibuster more useful, transparent, and involve the actual deliberation/compromise/solution orientation I would like but overall I like having a filibuster to keep the majority somewhat in check.
  19. Oh boy!!! Or, oh human!!! The Climateer COPter reporting includes a complete brief of the gender (and possible lack thereof) of all the delegates!!! This, of course, will help the planet survive my farting cows for several millenia longer than if the topic were not included:
  20. From today's liveblog of COP29 (global climate hoax meeting) Two observations: - What the heck are 67,000 people talking about together? This isn't a meeting. It is a Jim Jones Kool Aid drinking extravaganza. The main difference is that Jones probably offered fewer prayers to false gods than the Climateer COPters. They went to Azerbaijan to produce nothing but hot air. How many of those attendees do you think traveled on their own money? I bet most are there on the taxpayers' dime(s). Millions and millions of them. - The UK commits to cut 81% of emissions but it is not enough!! The fact that it is not possible nor desirable nor will do anything useful for the planet is immaterial. More is demanded. Nothing less than a 181% cut is acceptable to commentators. The finish line is when there exist no mammals to fart (I am guess fish and lizards and insects don't fart but cannot state that with absolute authority) thereby completely eliminating all UK greenhouse gas emissions.
  21. Nice Globetrotters reference. This is one of the best insults I have seen in a very long time. Good job.
  22. jross, abortion is not allowed to be said. The acceptable rightthink term is Reproductive Health. Weird how health in this context means the death of at least 50% of the people involved and results in no reproduction almost 100% of the time. In fact, when it results in reproduction it is considered a failure and often the person produced is denied any health care.
  23. Penn State's 2nd string and wrestlers redshirting.
