  1. Yes...except...ya know, the company and the PROFITS which stay in the United States. But sure, short of that, we ceded them the extraordinarily low skilled labor it takes to make their products. Jesus...imagine complaining we gave away the sweetshops to China?
  2. LOL...I couldn't even read it. These people aren't going to understand the absolute unmitigated disaster this is(some may, Jross may be smart enough, I don't know) until it's too late, but we did just go to war with the whole world assuming they'd ALL blink. But yes, it is the United States...vs the World. We're uniting Countries that don't just dislike each other, they absolutely DESPITE each other. I don't know if there's another two countries who hate each other as much as Japan and North Korea save for Japan and China(and Japan...kinda earned that with their denialism but that's for another topic). If you don't see those countries lining up against the US along with ALL of Europe, North America, South America...and think 'nah, it's a good thing to do the one thing that led to the LAST great depresion and will invariably cost consumers more because Trump said so,' then...you lack all critical thinking. My guess is when he sees what a disaster this is, he starts to walk them back. He did exclude Semiconductors(so thanks for that Elon...the one thing I kept was NVDA as I've owned it long enough that my DCA is under 6 a share).
  3. Oh...is THAT the nuanced issue that was REALLY the issue when Trump claimed Canada puts a 270% tariff on American Milk? And of COURSE Canada is going to prioritize it's own armers. The US still sells an enormous amount of dairy to Canada each year and that number has gone up 67% since 2020. So one would think 1-Saying there's a 270% tariff on Milk(which is inaccurate, but lets give him the benefit of the doubt and say he was wrong rather than lying) is at the VERY least intellectually dishonest...assuming he's capable of the intellectual prowess of understanding the larger issue. I genuinely don't believe he is. 2-...the US is selling significantly MORE dairy in Canada. Here's a shock, the US has also issues it's own permits to do business. 3-Finally...since this is meant to be for the GOOD of the American people(and the Canadian Dairy issue REALLY an insignificant aspect of this and never cited as the actual reason) but...the US exports ~85 BILLION DOLLARS worth of agricultural goods to Mexico, Canada and China. If this was the reason behind the tariffs...and of COURSE it's not, we do the same things, we've done them with Steel among other things, but why not a targeted tariff? It's across the board tariffs that have taken what was a RAGING economy, one growing at over 3% with the CPI down to 2.5%, unemployment in the 3%s. Is there ANY scenario in which this is better for the United States than paying the 4% interest rates on the 10 year that are coming due this year rather than 2.5%? And that's if you were to get Powell and company to agree to 150 basis points this year? This is a deliberate recession ENTIRELY due to the 10 year T-Bills and...it's going to cause irreparable harm. Well, maybe not irreparable. Last time we got through it...it did take a war with the Nazis, but we got through it eventually and then the 1950s saw the top marginal tax bracket in the 90s so they could service the debt.
  4. ....did...did you seriously just ask me what I think will happen WHEN it happens? You do know you can grab yourself a history book and learn as it's been happening for a VERY long time now. And no, I don't think China will be in "Charge" of North and South America...just as we're not "in charge" or Asia. I DO believe now that we're starting a tariff war with...THE WORLD we'll cease to be the largest economy... I'd ask where you got "China will be in charge of North America," but I...just can't bring myself to care any longer...
  5. Dude, after your last response rambling about Greenland when we were talking about the trade surplus of Canada...you're just going on ignore as I honestly think you lack the mental capacity to hold any type of coherent conversation.
  6. Ok...that was your response to Canadian dairy tariffs that haven't been imposed and the trade surplus we have with Canada? You came back with...Greenland and the "Lana,a canal?" I don't even know what "choices" you're talking about... How is Russia one of those choices? LOL...it's China and then India. Those are the Countries that will pass up the US as the largest economy. This couldn't be playing into China's hands any more if we tried.
  7. You realize when you implement the tariffs, IT'S NOT UNCERTAINTY any longer, right? Now you've set off a trade war and you're the first Nation to successful get Japan and CHINA and SOUTH KOREA to form an alliance. Jesus...at this rate, we could get Israel and Palestine to unite against the US...(why do I suspect you have next to no understanding of why Japan, China+North Korea forming an alliance is unlikely).
  8. Ok...so lets just cede our position as a world power and the largest economy to China. That is what we've done. There's already been one. The last time someone was stupid enough to try this. Who? I shudder to think what brilliant economic minds you watch that think across the board tariffs are a GOOD thing. NOTHING CHANGED...you clown. Things need to be updated? A trade agreement that was being adhered to. And by the way, we have a trade SURPLUS with Canada when energy is taken out...and you've already made it clear you don't understand how the global energy supply works, but we get oil from Canada at a fixed price, the oil in Canada goes elsewhere at a fixed price, it's irrelevant where it's coming from, but we WANT low gas prices, right? So NOTHING changes, the trade agreement works out(in the United States favor) and the same morons who believed that the OTHER Country pays the tariffs thinks the "greatest trade deal ever," needs to be re-worked 8 YEARS later. Please explain why? What in your feeble mind changed other than what the idiot in charge who thinks we can go back to the James Polk era and that's a great idea for our future economy.
  9. Ok. So lets say THAT is true and then lets say Trump gets NONE of the blame for how Covid was handled. You DO understand that directly leads to INFLATION, right? Your claim was that Biden was handed a great Economy(despite the fact that it was STILL in the midst of Covid and most certainly NOT a strong economy). You're...really just making *I poop my pants, don't laugh at me* up.
  10. No Country Produced MORE Oil in the HISTORY OF THE WORLD than the United States in Biden's first year. No Country produced more oil in the HISTORY of the world than the United States in Bidens 2nd year in office... Same with 3rd and same with 4th year. And you really are a special type of stupid. As for Trump not being to blame for Covid, we had 45 infectious disease specialists placed IN WUHAN. We had them all over the world, but we had them in Wuhan. Trump recalled ALL of them but one. When asked why? He said 'he didn't know.' Do you think it would have HELPED stop the spread of Covid to know what we were dealing with? How about shutting down travel and contract tracing? We did neither. Trump LIED and said he shut down travel, but 400,000 people traveled to and from China and ONLY shut down applications for NEW travels visas to or from China. But in terms of Biden causing inflation, it's just moronic. You can say it's NOT on Trump(even though Trump DISBANED the pandemic response team, something that would have had catastrophic effects if done during the ebola outbreak or the SARS outbreak. However, to suggest it was the US not producing enough energy? When the hell was that written? https://www.cnn.com/2023/12/19/business/us-production-oil-reserves-crude/index.html If you don't like that source, look up ANY other source. Do you understand at what prices Oil Companies actually WANT to drill? I used to own Ticket Symbol RIG. It has the MOST advanced Deep Sea Drilling rigs in the world. They can drill 55-60K FEET down into the ground. Trump came into office. So...OF COURSE that'd be a good stock to buy again, right(I'm really TRYING to dumb this down for you). It's trading...last I checked for about 4 dollars a share. It's ATH? ~80 a share. Why? Because when Gas is between 65 and 85 dollars a gallon, NOBODY is going to drill again. So every part of this argument that Biden took over a great economy OR that it was less drilling(objectively false) is...absolute nonsense. We extracted MORE Oil from the Ground under Biden EVERY YEAR than we did ANY YEAR under Trump. I'm thinking it was more the 6 TRILLION dollars added to the deficit, the economy shutting down and Covid costing it 15 TRILLION dollars, along with MASSIVE supply chain issues. What's more, to not understand that inflation is a LAGGING indicator is...to not understand basic economics. It's effectively like Blaming Trump the first MONTH for the price of eggs going UP(Despite the obvious outrageous claim that he'd lower it on Day1) because of Bird Flu.
  11. Ok..here are my thoughts. 1-That was NOT about tariffs, that was Canadians charging LESS for their Milk. THAT'S just the free market...which I kinda thought was the whole point of the...well, free markt. 2-Trump wrote his trade deal AFTER that. USMCA came AFTER 2017. So not a tariff issue, they just sold their milk cheaper. As you'll find from the above, the US never came CLOSE to paying tariffs for Milk... 3-AS I'VE SAID...targeted tariffs, those make sense in SOME situations. That's not at ALL what's going on here. This is just blanket tariffs which lead to trade wars. If someone sells a product cheaper than you're willing to...how is that NOT Capitalism? I'm REALLY trying to understand how this justifies a trade war. And you can say it's "dramatic" to say this could lead to the next great depression...but why? Because that's really bad? Literally NOBODY but Trump thinks this is a good idea. The market will be down over 1000 points tomorrow and that's just the start. Reciprical tariffs start and the GDP contracts... And again, trade with Canada IS SOEMTHING TRUMP NEGOTIATED. He called it the "Greatest Trade deal maybe ever. Nobody thought we could get a deal this good done." What's changed? Canada has NOT violated any element of the trade agreement TRUMP touted as being the GREATEST ever.
  12. You have to be a special type of ***I am an idiot and can't use a better adjective***ed to claim that we had a strong economy when Trump left office. I mean...REALLY just a massive disconnect from reality. Even if you want to blame Covid and put NO blame on Trump at all, Biden took over a disaster. You'd also have to have the historical knowledge to understand that much of CARTERS economy came from inflation coming into the early 70s in which Nixon froze prices AND wages(basically passing the buck on the inflation and unemployment). Also, from the Cato institute...you know, that far left wing think tank(I DO feel the need to point out it is in fact very conservative;
  13. Argue with Reagan; (I'd say understand how they arrive at the chances of a recession...which is using hard data, but I'm not sure you're gong to grasp it).
  14. I didn't even notice this. Must have been because it was added as an edit. How do you make this up? A tariffs that's never enforced and one that was part of TRUMP'S last agreement and you argue how hard "Farmers were hit by it? I don't get when people hear extraordinary claims and people just...don't think to search and good it and see is just MAYBE there's more to the story than the first claim you see.
  15. You still believe there's a 250% tariff on Dairy from Canada, don't you? You realize these aren't even tariffs. It's what the White House "estimates" based on how they "manipulate their currency." But fair? I think a LOT of the things the US does are "unfair." I didn't realize we were children who thought 'fair' was a real the measure. What this does...with ZERO doubt and absolutely NO question is hurt the United States Economy while causing it to contract...and there's ample evidence for that. So...yeah, I guess if you're good with the next great depression because you believed not ACTUAL tariff numbers, but made up ones by someone who's NOT bestowed with the power to implement them...then sure, make the "it's not fair" argument. It's just so stupid and reductive and also you'd have to believe Trump's numbers which are just objectively false as he USUALLY lies. You'd have to agree to the nonsense that there's actually a 250% tariff on Dairy from Canada. You'd also have to reconcile that it was TRUMP'S agreement that came up with that number... But I guess when we have another depression that makes the Housing crisis look mile...(assuming he doesn't pull back on those tariffs)...you can say, "but at least the largest economy in the world was FAIR!" Markets down over 1000 points already...and that's before you get the actual reciprocal tariffs.
  16. I don't think...anyone cares about the voter ID thing. There were CONSTANT ads and no race for a judge has ever had as much money spent on it. The ID...I lost my ID, I went online and printed it out. It wasn't a big deal. That's one of those things that the right cares about WAY more than the left does. There's some nonsensical idea that you've got people somehow using fake ids or they can register to vote without being American citizens. I voted for the ID law. I voted for Crawford. It's not NEARLY as schizo as you seem to think.
  17. Before everyone cheers the contracting GDP that's already led to what is technically a 'correction,' and by tomorrow will result in a "crash" in the market(-20% drop)...and argue how that's ACTUALLY a really good thing...maybe just listen to what Reagan said about Tariffs. And again, as I said in another thread, Reagan and every President uses SOME form of tariffs. He had regressive tariffs on motorcycles over a 5 year Period as Japan was flooding the market with cheap Motorcycles and Harley was in trouble. But you don't just put 10-20-40%+ tariffs on Countries. And we want to be the leader in AI...but all we've done is get Japan-CHINA and South Korea to form an alliance, the EU, Canada is going to respond. The rest of the world will.
  18. Again...when you see what seems to be a WILD claim...that we sell Milk to Canada and they put a 270% or a 250% tariff on it...don't you question that? The FACT is...that doesn't come into play until we reach a certain quota and THAT was part of Trump's USMCA trade agreement. The trade policy he just talked about being TERRIBLE and blamed on BIDEN! There has not been a tariff imposed on Dairy by Canada. Tariffs are not an inherently bad thing by ANY means. Tariffs saved Harley, they saved the Motocyle industry in the United States. But when Reagan put them on, he made it clear, it was up to Harley to make their bikes more competitive...as they'd stopped innovating and that the tariffs would go away. They would start at 45%, then within 5 years go away. And yet...these are just more Smoot-Hawley, across the board tariffs. This will the most inflationary policy since...well, the two names listed above. https://www.factcheck.org/2025/04/trumps-misleading-claim-on-canadian-dairy-tariffs/
  19. Yeah...and we don't export enough to even hit those tariffs to Canada. What's more, TRUMP was the one who negotiated the last deal with Canada and Mexico and made it illegal to impose new tariffs. It's Congresses job. But this is where the lies come in. 'Canada is charging 250% on Dairy products.' Yes...they are. AFTER a certain point which we don't ever reach. That would be an argument for TARGETED tariffs though...which is NOT supposed to be in the hands of Congress. I just can't Fathom how we could have someone so ignorant of History. May 1929-Congress passes Smoot-Hawley Oct 1929-Market Crashes April 1930-Market has regained MOST of the losses from the crash due to the belief that Hoover will not sign the tariffs into Law May-Hoover signs Smoot-Hawley into Law Great Depression Starts Is Reagan NOT the Republican Poster Boy? Their Hero? Listen to his take on Tariffs...
  20. And again, the market is crashing right now. Just absolutely dumping.
  21. It was only interesting in just how much the Democrats won by. A 10 point spread? I can't believe people think that's equal to a law that's already on the books. It was about as strong of a repudiation of Trump and Musk as you can get...and wait until the mid-terms. People who didn't listen and left their money in this market as Trump is absolutely tanking it...they're not going to be happy. The guy actually cited Smoot-Hawley, the economic policy that led to the great depression. Amazing. Markets are crashing after hours.
  22. You think THAT was the "important part of the ballot?" Yeah...that's why this was the most expensive State Supreme Court Race in History and Musk spent 70M dollars. To affirm a referendum on a law that already exists. Jesus are people gullible.
  23. I just need to see Sinclair at '74. I don't think he's bigger than Sinclair. Lets go back to Askren, he's thicker in the chest, but Askren was a lot longer. Haines is the favorite at '74. '84 I think Sinclair is in the 4-5 range. Ferrari, McEnally for starters, they're just too long. Arnold is basically build like Sinclair but...more muscle. I'm always rooting for the next 4X Champ and I'd like to see one from Wisconsin. Mesenbrink was confusion about RT away, Sinclair, it's right there for him. And to be clear, the kid isn't going to look like Micic at '74. He'll look like...a normal '74.
  24. Can Monteiro/Duthie make '74? Norman desperately needs to move up and he needs to fill out. He had O'Toole on the ropes, but he gassed. Didn't he have to give up a stalling and 2 TDs for O'Toole to complete the comeback?
  25. It's a different sport. No. I'll ask Kyle Dake. He shared who he thought should win it. Or Winn Magazine Editor who said that nobody had Hendrickson a one of the favorites coming into the tournament. I guess Gable Stevenson is ignorant of this distinction as well...and David Taylor
