  1. I saw Burwikk mentioned that often.
  2. Scholarships are per school not per kid. So don't understand the second sentence. If you change schools you risk a different agreement at the new school. Like they say- You can't take it with you!
  3. He'll keep it straight!
  4. As to team scoring, I thought using the HS scoring rules would have accomplished what was wanted back in 2000. It keeps a wider separation between placewinners and the higher advancement points allow for lower and non-placers to still score significantly. It also helps with the difference between ch and co bouts.
  5. Deion Sanders
  6. Maybe you don't. He did. I assume even if he went with the main thought of actually taking that job, if Stanford comes through ...
  7. It's not unusual to take a trip elsewhere to bolster your salary where you already are.
  8. Yeah, to me neither RPI nor WL/PCT by themselves tell us much. A good RPI mean you wrestled a lot of good guys. WL might say you beat a lot of schlumps. You need to combine them somehow (as you mention above)
  9. I don't remember hearing he hurt him but he did pin him. It was Joe Peritore of Lehigh who on the way off the mat told the ref to mind his own business next time.
  10. The first few times they hosted (80s, 90s) it wasn't very good. New facility and Bricktown have made it a good place now. I remember from the 80s there was only one restaurant open- at the end of a long tunnel very far away (a lot of the town life is underground). Nobody told the town about the event. Hotels were a long walk way.
  11. As is Kalashnikov
  12. A default is a loss and it's not a med forfeit. You blow the whistle for a default.
  13. Dibatista https://www.eiwawrestling.org/HOF/Hall_of_Fame/dibatista-dick?view=bio
  14. Something I've heard from coaches is that Fargo and other freestyle events tell them who is willing to work year round and to go out of their comfort zone learning new things.
  15. So, you're suggesting that common sense would tell them that adding this technology to what they already did (as has been shown on this- and the other- thread) would CAUSE this problem? Especially since this hasn't been shown to be the case in the two previous years of using it.
  16. Neither Gable went to Iowa or PSU.
  17. Of course not (assuming you mean between matches). Mats having been sterilaser "treated" are ready within seconds. Mopping takes minutes to dry and even if quick dry it would still take noticeably longer to be able to get out there. In rereading yours it's not clear you realized they did the once over after every few bouts per mat. They likely mopped AFTER the sessions.
  18. I think it depends on the kind of infection. Herpes/ringworm/molluscum, I believe, are more skin to skin. I think staph may be more mat related.
  19. It doesn't. I think it was developed mainly to kill covid and other similar things. That's why I said we don't know if they mopped between.
  20. Interesting. About 30 years ago when they cut the coaches to 3 full and 1 limited there were lawsuits then which led to the NCAA making the limited volunteer.
  21. I have no idea if they do or don't work (and I read some of the responses) but just because we fans only saw them using the sterilazers doesn't mean they weren't also washing between sessions like always. It is a problem that needs to be addressed.
  22. Adam Sandurski (No Penn State jokes please) 7' I remember Chasimikov picking him up like a rag doll. I think he helicoptered spun him. And somehow when the weight class dropped to 264 (120kg) he made it.
  23. A minor thing about the first Med F being a loss. I think it would have to be termed a forf rather than med (or we come up with a new term) as it would be complicated after the fact to decide which one is which if you are looking at the OPC after the fact. I'm not opposed and would not be opposed to calling them all losses. As I've posted previously, I'm the one when working the head table at NCAAs back in the 90s that asked for the term. It was just for purposes of clarification. Never thought of the possible "side effects" that would be added. So I'm looking for clarification again.
