  1. BTW, I couldn't let @flyingcement down!
  2. Gene Glass, Kent State 1946 165
  3. Looks like late 60s- ~68 when it became a thing. I think someone a little earlier suggested it.
  4. I see 2. There are a couple years without brackets on wrestlingstats so could be there. Obviously had to be early years. I knew the 1936 Unl situation as I knew Scobey (Lehigh) only had 3 in the weight so the 3rd had to be one. Dell Shockley- Ok St 1929 115 Gordon DuPree - Oklahoma State 1936 Unl
  5. I thought you were implying football.
  6. So far, I've got answers of it being called Mat Town back to the early 70s.
  7. Lock Haven has long been known at Mat Town. I'm going to see what Tom Elling knows about the origin.
  8. Since Chael is with MMA maybe his saying he didn't hit him is something like Crocodile Dundee saying-
  9. Not sure on a year by year basis but basically we grabbed pdfs from the NCAA (as it says on the site) rather than using the Access data and generating as JB says. We held out a few years more with the EIWA.
  10. Ours is more historical. Was mainly geared towards Lehigh fans. Every bout wrestled since 1910 (28998). The EIWA and NCAA have all brackets. EIWA 1926-2023 and NCAA 1928-2023.
  11. JDA and I maintain parts of it. (JDA does the real work) The Lehigh portion is up-to-date. We also maintain the pdf brackets from the EIWA and NCAA.
  12. Gray Simons won 7- 4 NAIA 3 NCAA. Officially it was the NCAA realizing no other sport gave 2 bites at the apple. But I wouldn't be surprised Haselrig prompted the thought process.
  13. The coaches’ rankings are determined by a vote of 14 coaches in each weight class with two head coaches from each of the seven conferences. For ranking purposes, coaches may only consider a wrestler that has been designated as a starter at a respective weight class. Wrestlers must have eight Division I matches in the weight class to be considered with at least one within the last 30 days.
  14. Back then, they had 2.5 hours to weighin and you could get on the scale as much as you wanted within the timeline. Bobby was very close with Coach Leeman (the two would talk through practice it seemed). One year going to Navy, he got on the scale and was a little over. He ran out to Leeman with a big smile- "Coach! I'm a quarter over!". It was the first time.
  15. Stanich has one more date to give before the decision needs to be made. So, assuming he wrestles one of the two this weekend we won't know anything else (barring a public announcement) for at least two weeks as we're off next weekend.
  16. You can't even spell is. And you're the only one thinking this
  17. So you admit you're wrong- dual refers to the entire meet not each match/bout.
  18. The correct spelling for duel is duel. The correct spelling for dual is dual- as in two teams rather than a tri or a quad.
  19. Different generation. The Frick/Frack was 2000s (maybe even late 90s)
  20. Unless you're trolling with the spelling and I missed it- DUALS! Duels-
  21. That is interesting (AJ- didn't watch the other thing). When I saw the early videos it looked like his fist was closed and couldn't see what happened after. Later I did see the fist open up but didn't see it hit the ref until now. Clear fmc dq regardless of intent to hit the ref since there was intent to hit Glazier.
  22. More of both total- not sure how many in any one line up. There were 4 Fricks- Travis, Eric, Thad and Colin. Not sure how many Fracks.
