  1. Is the season longer now than it used to be, when top wrestlers routinely had 30-40 matches? All I have access to is Cornell's record book, and I see more than a dozen guys with more than 44 matches in a season, all of which were in the last fifteen years (and Dake isn't one of them). When did the season get too long?
  2. As an aside, Gabe Dean had 101 *bonus* wins alone. Arujau already has 52 bonus wins, with 1.5 seaons left. It's a bit like Hank Aaron: take away his 755 home runs, and he still had over 3,000 hits.
  3. Arujau is 59-6, might get nearly 20 more wins this year, and he has next year to go. Foca has 37 through 1.5 seasons (not clear if he will get one or two more years). Yianni is 97-2. RBY has 87 wins (across five years); Max Dean has 89 wins. Glory has 80 wins; Monday has 81. Jacob Warner has 85 wins. All those could get to 100, health (and weight, for Glory) permitting. But your point is well taken!
  4. Doubtful. Arujau has had no issues with 133 lbers so far. (I assume you meant "make 125")
  5. Koderhandt is a better win: current #17 vs #22.
  6. Yeah, how can it be relevant? 3x NCAA champions who got knee surgery and wrestled the next year. Just another data point.
  7. Google search is your friend! I don't remember that at all.
  8. Beginning of January. January 7th, I believe. He gave an interview on 1/2 that referenced the surgery "on Friday."
  9. Yianni only had surgery on one knee, and possibly not as damaged, but nine months after March surgery, he began competition again. He wrestled four matches in his first tournament in November, and wrestled 11 matches by the end of December, with the last one avenging (again) his loss to Eierman. Ended up at 29-0. Spencer's surgery was nearly a year ago, right?
  10. How hard is this to figure out? You need a Rokfin subscription: $14.99/month, cancel any time. You need a one-time PPV for this event: $15. You can cancel the day after you subscribe, and your subscription is good for the rest of the month. So, $30 to watch PSU, Cornell, ISU, OSU, Lehigh, etc. each three times.
  11. Just for grins, Nick Lee in 2018, as the #8 seed who lost in the first round, proceeded to wrestle and beat (in order) the #9, 10, and 16 seeds, then lost to the #2 seed and finally beat the #5 seed for 5th. That's a high fiber diet.
  12. The idea is that if one team has to make weight on Friday and Saturday, and the other team only on Saturday, then allowing an extra pound on Saturday helps overcome the disadvantage of only one team having to make weight two days in a row.
  13. Pretty sure that applies to dual meets as well, in which one of the teams had a dual meet the previous day/night. To wit: *-indicates event is eligible for a one-pound weight allowance Friday, December 9: Pittsburgh at Brown, 6:30 PM Saturday, December 10: *Michigan State at Brown, 6:30 PM
  14. Shocking.
  15. He's already wrestled 125 this year (November). What are you talking about?
  16. You can believe Minnow or you can believe Princeton wrestling. From their preview for the Rutgers match on Sunday:
  17. Going by some people's belief that Dean was gifted by the referees two matches in the tournament.
  18. Boy, Dean was totally gassed by the end. They were in neutral and he was pretty much staggering toward Beard trying to engage for a Hail Mary TD at the end. Anyone recall the last time a #1 and defending champion lost two matches in a row the next year, much less two in one weekend?
  19. Meyer Shapiro won the Clarion Open, the Bearcat Open, and the Mat Town Open I. 13-0 with 12 bonus victories (five pins).
  20. If you have a concussion, no toughness will get you just restarting. The medical staff was all over him in a flash.
  21. Injury time. He was clearly hurt. At least Cook got to wrestle more than one minute this time...
  22. I have no issues with Arena using Chrome in normal mode on my MacBook.
  23. Both rounds go at the same time, so equal rest.
  24. Flo also skips it on their schedule. So, starting at 1pm ET, they have semi-finals and consi round of 4. Then they have consi semi-finals. Then they have 5th/6th and 7th/8th place matches. Then they break until 6pm for the championship and 3rd/4th place matches.
  25. Are they just skipping the Consi Round of 4? I assume that round goes off with the semis, since the winners of the former will then wrestle the losers of the latter right after that.
