  1. Cornell wrestling social media just now: "We'll see you in November in Tulsa!"
  2. Cornell, with some feedback from Coach Grey ("all 2025 recruits will be grey shirting"): 125/133: Greg D, Ungar, Milani, Ferrera 141: Saunders, Cornella, Bouyssou 149: Fernandez, Joy 157: Shapiro 165: Cerchio 174: Ruiz, Hansen 184: Furman? Mays? 197: Dellagatta, Diakomihalis 285: Davis, Compton Gonna be some battles at the lower weights! Wonder if either of the BigDs can make 184 next year...
  3. That sound you hear is the world's smallest violin being played by Cornell wrestling fans...
  4. 100% of Ryan Crookham's losses so far (attached) are to National Champs.
  5. Nebraska only needs one transfer, as long as it is Mesenbrink or Haines or Barr...
  6. He was in a hospital in Rochester. (and yes, I get the joke)
  7. Just spitballin' here, but maybe the doctor who knows Shapiro's medical condition better than you?
  8. In reference to the Tour de France, it was noted
  9. Yeah, no. People on PEDs remove opportunities from those who wish to achieve through natural means. This pushes PED use to lower and lower levels and age groups. Middle school wrestler who wants to get a scholarship in college? Gotta take PEDs in high school (if not earlier). For every Lance Armstrong or Tyler Hamilton or Barry Bonds, there is someone who lost out because they refused to cheat. Making doping "not cheating" just pushes the health risks onto more and more (young) people.
  10. I personally think that Perentin (3x NJ state champion at Delbarton) is, right now, better than Cerchio. Eli ("big little D") is coming off shoulder surgery that had him sit out the year, so I'd be surprised to see him in the Cornell lineup. It's really frustrating to have no f***ing clue as to who will come in and who will grey shirt. Given the recent history of true freshmen at Cornell, you have to be really special (Dake/Yianni/Shapiro, and *not* Vito!) to jump right in. Only Knox might fit that bill. Time will tell, of course.
  11. Fernandez told me he'll be back via sitting out the fall semester. Gotta believe Saunders has (finally!) run out of eligibility.
  12. That's quite a job you did there! Wrt Cornell and Knox: Cornell apparently have Greg D (one year of eligibility), Brett Ungar (one year of eligibility), and Tyler Ferrara (three years left) all coming back next year, so two of them would have to sit if Knox came in as a true freshman (and presumably was the best of the bunch). Cornell and Correa: they have Mikey D (197) and Ashton D (285) returning, plus Elijah Diakomihalis (HS 190) and Rocco Dellagatta (HS 285) both of whom likely greyshirt. Great if Correa could go 197.
  13. NCAA testing NCAA athletes. What could go wrong? (there is a reason that WADA (and in the US, USADA) are used by national and international sports governing bodies to do testing, not that they are perfect)
  14. Tournament testing (in any sport) only catches the stupid dopers.
  15. There is an article about this in today's NYTimes (gift article: https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/23/us/politics/trump-musk-ncaa-wrestling-philadelphia.html?unlocked_article_code=1.6E4.xMoA.rchuevMizbyJ&smid=url-share); it's mostly about the reaction of Trump fans to the ever-present Musk. This stood out for me: The cognitive dissonance...
  16. You seem to have an obsession with Gainsborough. Weird.
  17. The irony of someone quote responding to themselves while sitting in a chat room apparently for long hours...
  18. It was in the semi-finals not the finals, but in the Shapiro/Taylor match the ref flipped the disc and it came up green. Shapiro just stood there waiting for Taylor to make his decision, forgetting for two seconds that for like the first time ever Shapiro wasn't wearing (the other Big) Red ankle bands.
  19. Yeah, there's no way Trump would demand to go out whenever he wanted to.
  20. "nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public"
  21. Shapiro does not have a hard cut, from what I understand. Concussions occur, but they aren't frequent at all.
  22. He has said that he stopped doing the aerial stuff this year, and having watched his matches he's kept to that program. I note he didn't say what caused the punctured lung or the seizures. Love to learn the back story on this one!
  23. No, just that Foca pinned Plott two years ago in the NCAAs.
