    Agreed. I'm just not sure this is the same DT. He gave up go behinds to Trent Hidlay. I love Trent, but he is no Ghasempour. I have concerns about 2024 DT. I hope I am wrong. I do know that DT knows how to wrestle Iranians, so fingers are crossed.

    Actually, the question was "Does he have another entire cycle of him being the US rep left in him?" (my question) I am leaning toward "no" seeing he is increasingly injured, has weight cut issues, and his results seem to be trending in the wrong direction. (NCAA regular season, OTT, Worlds)

    I shaved my freshman or sophomore year in college and not often. Now I have a full beard. Took a bit.

    The "age cheating" thing, I'm not sure about... but he did have a fairly long career winning his last world medal (bronze) in '06, before retiring with neck issues in 2007. So a 13-14 year long career, regardless. FILA named him the third greatest wrestler of all time. I'm guessing Karelin and Medved the top two?

    Maybe... but Turkey had a 17 year old World Champ in 93 in Hamza Yeriklaya. Hamza went on to win two Olympics. I bet he was pretty good at 20 if he won at 17. (Also was 82 kg at 17, where he was wrestling full grown men)

    Both significantly heavier than Vito. The lighter guys tend to have shorter careers on top in most combat sports. That factors in as well. Look at Vito's injury history as of late... further compounding things.

    DT and Sad are much more credentialed now as a duo than Sad/Snyder were in their first two matchups. Maybe past prime, but better credentialed.

    https://uww.org/athletes/bassett-bowen-william He is either already 18 or will be 18 before 1/1/2025. Previous reports have him turning 19 in March 2025 and 20 as a senior March 2026. He beats college level guys, so age isn't an issue when wrestling U20 worlds; however he will 100% be 18 as a junior. Possibly 19.

    This might be a function of Russia not being at Olympics. Japan and Iran have always taken age groups seriously as far as I can remember.

    Well, McDonogh was one of the few Iowa guys Askren liked, and he was let go... so there's that. And Ben was/is tight with Wick and Moran, and I think they both had fallings out with Bono as well.
