  1. Your assessment on Snyder is fair. Guys at 97 KG age slower than guys at 65 KG or 57 KG, though, and Snyder is on the right side of 30 still. If we are worried about Snyder in 2+ years, we should also be worried about Zahid.
  2. I remember hearing from some of you guys that he was probably not long for 65 KG after he beat Johnny D in 2022. So I kind of expected him to work his way up to 74 KG then, but then we had the 2024 Olympics... BUT after his 5th in 2023, I was thinking "There might be a chance." I would like to see him go the Yazdani route (when he went 74 KG to 86 KG), and just go 74 KG if he is going to go, without stopping at 70 KG, myself. That said, one year at 70 KG might not be the end of the world for him.
  3. I think the version of Thicclay we just saw beats the version of Azarpira we just saw Snyder beat quite a bit more comfortably. That means I am putting Thicclay ahead of Cap.
  4. What ever happened to Forrest's appear?
  5. Well, I was trying to not pile on and blame Lee/Iowa/Brands Bros. But we can revert back to that.
  6. lol I can't. Something like this?
  7. The post-197lb version of Brooks looks bigger than the 184lb version of him. Also that angle is craptastic in the first picture.
  8. Well, he didn't need to be amazing for four minutes.
  9. I know he gave Dake all he could handle a couple years back, but he gassed pretty hard. Seeing him up at 79 KG makes me eager to see him head to 86 KG for the Olympics. That would be cool as hell.
  10. I am going to do it a little different than what you asked for. I am going to list our current team members, and give them what I think is a realistic percentage for being our rep. 57 KG - Lee, ~75% 57 KG 61 KG - Forrest, <5% 65 KG, <1% 57 KG 65 KG - Woods, 5-10% 65 KG 70 KG - Duke, 5-10% 74 KG 74 KG - Carr, 20-25% 74 KG 79 KG - Haines, 15-20% 74 KG, <5% 86 KG 86 KG - Valencia, ~75% 86 KG 92 KG - Thicclay, <5 % 86 KG, 5-10% 97 KG 97 KG - Snyder, ~75% 97 KG 125 KG - Pindrickson, 15-20% 125 KG Interestingly enough, I think were Snyder to go 125 KG, he would win it, and perhaps his match against Parris is to test those waters. That said, I think Lee, Valencia, and Snyder are heavy favorites to make it and realistically only injury or retirement will change that. Lee laid a dud, but that is more because of our unrealistic expectations. If I had to bet, right now, this is what I would put our team at: 57 KG - Lee 65 KG - Mendez 74 KG - Carr 86 KG - Valencia 97 KG - Snyder 125 KG - Parris
  11. Pretty bummed that the US bookends cost the US a shot at the team title, BUT I must say - watching Amouzad close out MFS at 65 KG? It's always a damned pleasure to watch him wrestle. I don't know how he lost last year and I don't know how he 'only' took 5th the year prior. When he is on, he is unbeatable. Now get him on a treadmill to train cardio!
  12. We gave up two medals to get that medal at 65 KG, though. Gold at 57 KG and Bronze at 125 KG. It cost us the team title. Honestly, were Specer or Pindrickson able to have broken through for a medal, we would have won it. In a year that most other countries would have called us having a down year due to no Cox, no JB, no Dake, and no DT.
  13. Had Pindrickson gotten bronze like he should have, we would have won the title.
  14. The call from Cael in an hour or so... *RING RINGGGGG* Kyle: Hey coach! Cael: Hey, man. Just wanted to be the first to tell you... Kyle: Thanks man, but everyone here has... Cael: ...NOT spend it on hookers and blow. Kyle: ... Cael: I'm serious about this, Kyle. Kyle: ... Cael: Nod if you understand me. *Kyle nods* Cael: No hand the fone to Jamie *hands fone to Jamie* Cael: Did he nod? Jamie: Who, Kyle? No. Cael: DAMNIT GIVE HIM THE FONE BACK! *Jamie looks around... can't find him anywhere* Jamie yells: Yo, where did Kyle go? Random person: Oh, him and Zadick were running out the doors together laughing and bouncing around Jamie: Damn. Did you hear that? Cael: ... *three seconds of silence* Cael: Damn it.
  15. He was warned several times during the match to stop closing up/clamping on the fingers, and that was including in that.
  16. Not sure how that was a 4 for Bulgaria against Taz there.
  17. Is that the first time we have ended the tourney w/ a win at 65 KG?ĺ
  18. Is that the first time we have ended the tourney w/ a win at 65 KG?
  19. It's unfortunate, because were Little Yaz to win it all, this would have been the year to do it. His side of the bracket was absolutely set up for him to succeed. I wish we'd have had the opportunity to see him test his metal at 74 KG. He wouldn't have won, no, but maybe we see some sort of excitement in him that we don't get out of Emami (even if Emami is quite consistent).
  20. Wolbert is German, isn't it? Perhaps that is the aim? International fame.
  21. I hear you on your opinion. It is still wrong.
  22. You read it correctly. Never have I meant big boots Latina adds. I have only ever meant booty in that form of paraphrasing. Autocorrect for the fail.
  23. Valencia has never lost to Hidlay in any style and they have wrestled many, many times. The closest was this last spring, where Valencia 'only' beat him 4-2.
