  1. Yeah I’ve think I said similarly in different threads. My guess would be if you take the 20 D2/D3 champs and put them in the D1 tournament, you’d get something like: 1 AA (7th/8th) or R12 1 R16 4 2-2 6 1-2 8 0-2
  2. So basically Manning’s solution is more honor? I take it he’s never thrown a lung brick?
  3. Man this article makes Manning sound like even more of a baby than he already did. In the tweets, it seemed his main complaint was about B10’s, where PSU probably did know Suriano wasn’t wrestling, and I’m sure Starocci as well. But after getting called out by multiple people with first hand knowledge of the situation that it wasn’t always known that Suriano wasn’t going to wrestle at NCAA’s, Manning doubles down. “What was he practicing, checkers?” is super cringe…
  4. Tell me you’ve never watched a Nebraska dual without telling me you’ve never watched a Nebraska dual
  5. I think people would give Fix the Spencer Lee treatment. I don’t think they would for Vito since he appears to be more injured
  6. Yeah looks like Christian Lance is the answer to the OP’s question of the last time. Interestingly according to the Ft Hays website he redshirted then wrestled in one D2 NCAA tournament but DNP. His path to AA in 2022 wasn’t easy either. He had wins over Tyrie Houghton, Lewis Fernandes and Wyatt Hendrickson while losing to Tony Cassioppi, Greg Kerkvliet and Lucas Davison.
  7. Good info. I don’t think any of this except for Brent Rider really disagrees with what I said though
  8. I would think there are maximums but I have no idea
  9. I posted this when it was announced but if you’ve taken a gander at Leeth’s x/twitter account, I feel pretty confident in saying he’ll like Stephenville much better.
  10. I’d argue that “D1 reserves smoking good D2/D3 wrestlers” is mostly referring to reserves from the top 15 or so teams. “Good D2/D3 wrestlers” can often beat or at least compete with the bottom third of D1 teams’ starters (who would also get beat by the reserves from the top 15 or so teams).
  11. This is a good question. Also interesting because there could be team trophy implications
  12. Apparently they started at like -300 according to the x/twitters, but quickly went to -700, I guess now -1200
  13. It may be harder to AA now, but the transfer portal has helped PSU put together this super team, considering 40% of their lineup is transfers
  14. This clearly wasn’t the case since this thread was started before last season was over.
  15. Yeah that’s my point. 7 AA’s is basically worst case scenario for them, which is pretty crazy.
  16. Well we know Starocci is going to win, so it’s only a push if Davis loses in the R12 (which is very possible)
  17. “Only” 7 AA’s lol, man seems kinda crazy to say that
  18. What is PSU’s probability for 10? And Starocci should be considered a 1. I’d be OK bumping Davis down to 5 or 6 though.
  19. I haven’t seen anyone say this. Vito should have been seeded over Ragusin and maybe Shawver though
  20. Except apparently Cael said he kinda knew he’d be the starter since the beginning of the season…
  21. Previous discussion here
  22. FRL doesn’t require a subscription…
  23. This seems like a stretch. Both these schools were transitioning to D1 (and into conferences essentially without wrestling), which seems to be more of the common thread here.
  24. What was the timeline with them again? When they added wrestling in 2017 they hadn’t announced the transition to D1 yet had they?
