Did Welsh say he had no contact with PSU prior to entering the portal? Obviously he’s not going to admit it, but he probably doesn’t want to lie either. I thought he just said he hadn’t officially decided. If he was club teammates with some of the guys on the team I’m guessing he at least mentioned to them that he was thinking about it in the beginning of this season when the earlier rumors started, and then word of that likely spread elsewhere. No clue if that would include the coaching staff or the PSU version of Nicolls.

He pretty much agreed with one of my posts when he said something like “if i can’t start at Penn State, then I’m not accomplishing my goals of being the best in the world.” But he also said he was frustrated watching his tOSU teammates compete when he wasn’t. And in regards to this off-season he does have connections at Rutgers that may have insight into the situation with Peterson, although I don’t believe he actually put out a number that he was supposedly offered. It’s not like they’re scaring people away from offering similar amounts so Iowa gets the guys, based on the Nagao situation we pretty much know Penn State guys are in all likelihood getting comparable amounts
