    I see the gold medalist in uneven bars for women’s gymnastics had transferred from France to Algeria, but it seems in part over disagreements. So I guess transfers are likely not uncommon in various other sports as well.

    Seems odd that the IBA in their statement claims the DQ was a result of tests at both 2022 and 2023 worlds, but she was allowed to compete in the early rounds of the 2023 tournament and no action was taken on her silver medal in 2022.

    I believe the official answer is we don’t know. But the organization that did the test won’t say what kind of test it was.

    1. “The IBA” has not said what test they failed, just that it wasn’t a testosterone test. It was just one individual making the claim that they had XY chromosomes. 2. No idea. She didn’t seem particularly impacted by the punch when it happened

    If there were defined levels set by the governing body that she exceeded, then yes I would be OK with excluding her. That doesn’t make her a man though. I do see the organization that DQ’d her from worlds is now saying it was not a testosterone test, but they aren’t saying what kind of test it actually was. I’ve read several accusations of corruption from that organization which is probably worth mentioning though.
