  1. I honestly wouldn’t be shocked if Cael did it so that they realize coaches shouldn’t be doing rankings
  2. The high and low are thrown out? Does that mean 2 people left him off?
  3. He was mad he didn’t cut to 125 for the Iowa dual
  4. Rankings are not predictions. I guess wrestlestat might consider theirs kinda to be? Does the higher rated wrestler always win in their scenarios? I think a main problem with wrestlestat’s algorithm is that they put too much emphasis on results from several years ago. I believe this explains Fix over RBY, and it probably also explains Parris at pre-season #1
  5. I’m guessing I missed a joke in one of the other threads, but Steveson is next in line to be CEO? Huh?
  6. 125 is the least of the problems with Wrestlestat’s algorithm. If Daton Fix can still be #1, then something with the algorithm needs to be changed
  7. I was referring to Baylor, but I see wrestlestat did the same thing to Lewis…
  8. Wrestlestat no longer lists Fernandes as the starter…do they know something we don’t? The guy they do list as the starter is 0-3 with 2 losses by bonus
  9. But there is only one Freestyle wrestling Olympic competition. Do you think Spencer can win Olympic?
  10. Correct. Just as Olympics is an abbreviation for the Olympic Games, States is an abbreviation for State Championships
  11. My point was at B1G last year Brooks was really the only guy that did worse there than at NCAA’s. I guess you could argue Kerk, but they also had Berge get 3rd from the 10 seed. You could certainly argue Hildebrandt, who had gotten 4th the year before, “faltered” at NCAA’s by scoring half a point. They had 3.5 points total between 125, 149, 157, and 165. But they didn’t need them because they had 5 champs.
  12. Do you think Spencer Lee has a shot at winning Olympic?
  13. Good thing he didn’t transfer to tOSU then?
  14. I’d agree with OP. But more of Jimmy trying to get people to think PSU is in danger of not winning NCAA’s by claiming that Starocci and Brooks could lose
  15. Meh, Brooks was really the main guy that “faltered.” Moreso just a result of what WKN said that their teams tend to be built more for NCAA tourney success than B1G tourney success
  16. That's why BWI is boring IMO. Pretty much every topic is "I trust Cael to do what's best" (which of course is an accurate statement)
  17. Yeah, this is like when they had 4 champs in 2021 and people seemed shocked. I was like, why would you be shocked, they just had 5 a few years earlier
  18. Guessing would have to go back a decade or so when guys wrestled more matches...
  19. I'm not sure if the other 2 (in addition to SDSU, which technically shows on wrestlestat as an injury default but should be a DQ) were separate incidents. They were at the same tournament, so he may have gotten DQ'ed from one match and then been automatically DQ'ed from the next (or would that be a MFF, not sure). I wouldn't read much into the MFF's. He did win by injury default twice in the same tournament in 2020 though which I would imagine isn't all that common.
  20. The doc sounds like he only did 8th grade twice now edit: shoot I think I misunderstood that video he did with JerseyJerry. He just said he “did 8th grade twice,” not that he “got held back twice”
  21. That was interesting, I also didn’t realize coaches go to practices to recruit…
  22. Why are we assuming it was a different username? I’m assuming it’s Fernandes’ dad (or Baylor himself), I mean who else would try to defend this?
  23. Yes a fishhook is dirty and illegal. But this topic is about the "dirtiest," and a fishhook isn't the dirtiest thing that can be done in wrestling. This Fernandes guy is up there though, although I agree calling him "irredeemable" is unnecessary
